NMNA
I stumbled onto this during my weekly Craiglist search. Its butt terrible.
But hey... It does 126mph before the "govenor" kicks in? I pray that hasn't actually been attempted.

The roll bar was the best part. I died. It looks like it came out of some little 80's mini truck.

I think this pic is a good first step.
I'm sure they attached that front clip using the same high-quality fabrication skills reflected in the rest of the build.
What a mess. It looks exactly like something that I would expect to come out of central Florida trailer park.
If it were a wagon instead of a hatchback I'd already own it. As it is I spent a bunch of time looking on CL for a Pinto wagon donor.
So funny I walk by one of those Hyundais on my way from work. Only a couple of blocks from home. Doesn't get driven much. Wonder if the owner would sell?
If it were a bit cheaper I'd get it, make sure the parking brake works, and see how many burnouts it takes to break the doghouse away from the rest of the chassis.
I really Hope someone does something stupid with it. I can't help but remember an article I read back in the day with sport compact car.
Here is a link to the repost of it. EconoBox into the 14's

I know! I remember not so long ago when running 12's what a big deal. Now thanks to Turbo Lqs and LM7s etc.. Everyone is running 9s haha
The hilarity of all of this is that Im in the process of building a 4door sr20 powered econobox as a track day car.. that will be in the 12's here soon.....

Looks like they copied the Feb 87 Hot Rod issue where they stripped down a 70 Cadillac to make Caddy Hack.
In about 1976 a surfing buddy of mine was given his dad's 65 Bonneville, as a frame with a roll cage. The wheel base was shortened by three feet, and they cut off six feet behind the axle.
His dad claimed it had the police enforcer engine and been paced at over 140 by his friend with a Georgia highway patrol car. With the full body.
We finished the build in my back yard, with a beer keg fuel tank, plexiglass windshield, chrome headlights from JC Whitney and trailer tail lights. We bought a junk yard bench out of an early 60s Caddy, and closed in the cage with plywood and a plexi back window.
We made fenders from some galvanized pipe, and it passed inspection!
Finished it out with some vinyl side curtains. It still had the AC. We named it the moon buggy. I don't know what rear end gear it had, but it would downshift at 90 and spin the tires.
Soon after, I left to embark on my first career racing horses. I heard later that he owned the Orlando street racing scene, undefeated until he blew the radiator, overheated it and cracked the block.
