NMNA
i'll admit, these things are a nice ride once you get past the awkward nose

300 hp, limited slip, rwd!
About an hour away from me. Wouldn't the owner be surprised if I showed up to look at it in a perfectly fine running Q45.
The seller statement of, "...it's been sitting so it needs some work..." is pretty vauge. I'll bet it needs knock sensors which is a nearly impossible job. The sensors themselves are a simple and cheap part shared with many Nissans. The impossible part is that the sensors reside deep in the engine V and require removal of fuel lines, air lines, electric lines and coolant lines. The prevailing logic is that in the process you will break one of these lines or connections and many of the small parts are NLA.
This repair is the real Achilles heal of the VH45DE engine.
I'll write the seller for more info.
The LSD in these is viscous, right?
I believe that a lot of other Nissans can donate wheels to this thing, like 350z's and such, which should help improve the visuals immensely, and probably the unsprung weight as well.

5x114.3 with the same hub as every V6 or V8 Nissan & Infiniti sedan of fwd or rwd.
Mustang fits too.
Many good looking wheels avaiable.
In reply to Mazdax605:
100% chance the other wheels look better. I had a set of Q45 forged mesh wheels in my shed for about five years until someone recently took them off my hands to put on a mustang.

Q45's are popular race cars. I have one, Stampie has one, John has one... ^^this guys selling his. Told a friend with a FRS he wasted his money, Q45 sound better, seat more people and have the same power to weight ratio.
In reply to Andy Neuman:
Some nice parts there! Bad trans should be swapped with 300z manual. Challenge starter kit!
Email sent yesterday to sell on OP. No word back.

I keep trying to hold back on the car. I may just call and offer low and see what kind of response I get.
Nothing I like more than having most of the work done for me.
These cars are so unloved by the masses that it could be real easy to aquire many of them, all cheaply.

My garage is too big and empty to hear statements like that.
I'll have to find the thread but after 2014 Challenge I predicted an all Q45 class for the following year.
Though not exactly all Q45, we did have what became Aristocrats for 2015 where all comers were trying to "best" the Q45.
That ended with the Q45 still "besting" all.
So, for 2016, many Q45s!
Not sure what the deal with this one is as I know nothing about these cars, but this one is very cheap, and could possibly be had cheaper.

Though the Gen2 are still named Q45, the engine is a smaller 266-hp, 4.1-liter V-8. Less "athletic" of a chassis but still a good tourer.
4.5 liters and 320-hp reappears in the Gen3 versions.
What do you think is the known issue that the seller of the one I linked to is? Lights on dash come on, and go off, but come back on again? Sounds fishy, or New England for I have no idea what the berkeley I'm talking about.
It almost reads like English is no the first language of the seller (or maybe that is a Boston-y thing.)
As far as the "dash lights" which reappear, my first inclination is he means Check Engine Light or some other dash warning light like ABS light, etc.
Since this is a Gen2 Touring Model, it will have an electronic suspension. This would be my greatest apprehension and may be the source of some sensor lights on the dashboard.
If you want a pleasant touring car, cheap, here is an i30 (tarted up Maxima) for $250 that claims to need an engine but only has 90k miles???
i30 in North Shore
Fully running Gen 2 Q45 asking $1,700

Excuse me sir but the 3rd gen came with 340hp for 6.8hp per dollar spent.
Sweet. 340! I can't wait to witness the grandeur of your behemoth.
I am an hour away from the closest Infiniti Store but I envision one day arriving in my Q45 and then trying to test drive a M56 with the 420 hp 5.6L.
After the test drive, I'll wiggle out of the deal when they refuse to give me a "good price" on my 26 yr old Q45.
You'll need to log in to post.
