Not at all, I'd much rather pursue natural methods first. We've been at this for over 2 years and just started the drugs. My doctor was very supportive of trying natural methods such as many of the ones listed in the article. And while we had some reduction with them it was not nearly significant enough.

The pain from the meds is only a small part of the overall sale though folks so getting me healthy may not change things much. I just have other interests that I feel its time to pursue.

Agreed, that's why I'm very careful to only advertise here. I'm willing to negotiate enough that if I popped these over to Lemons, especially the Wartuburg, I think they'd sell. I really dont want to see the car end its days on a Lemons track though. Too many good cars are getting used to death over there now. I dont mind killing off uninteresting cars but in the race to out weird each other some othewise good cars are getting destroyed.

The Yugo I'd put on a Lemons track, that's why I bought it back, but that's also why I was taking molds of all the flares and such so I could rebuild if needed. It has less of a chance to sell to Lemons because it doesnt have all the non-budget safety equipment that would offset the higher price and I have yet to convince people there just how potent of a racer a Yugo really could be.

Mulling over some things tonight and we have a lot of folks here with great talent, so I'm willing to discuss an exchange.

My wife has a VW thing, it is her baby and she loves it. She really wants it repainted and I have just always been too involved in other projects to do it. I also know its going to take more than a scuff and shoot. While it looks good on the surface the paint is heavy and there's no doubt some sketchy things going on under there. I know at a minimum the rockers were repaired with flat metal which is cutting the body line short. I have body line patch panels to weld in to fix that.

If someone here wants one of these vehicles and is willing to do a full, bare metal, strip, repair respray to professional(ish) standards I would trade one of these cars and all their extra bits for the job.

Some other details, we have a specific paint job in mind, it will need to be base clear in a candy orange with airbrushed "ghost" flowers. If you are local and I can come out after base is sprayed I will do the airbrush work, if you are not local you'd have to arrange that part, its a simple job, we want hibiscus flowers like it has now but ghosted and just in a "stripe" along the rocker.

I'd prefer you be able to pull the body and take it leaving the chassis so I can rebuild that while its gone....subie swap!

Just food for thought.

Thanks :) This is our 3rd one, I started building a radical street Thing when she and I got engaged, she took interest so I traded my Willys for a more stock one and was doing his and hers with mine being radical and hers stock when she lost her job and I had to sell them to pay for our wedding. She always wanted another and I bought this 3 years ago for her, its only been out a few times though, its complete and pretty solid but just needs some care and attention that I never seem to have time for. She'll never let me sell it (or it would have been on the block before the others) and she's put up with an awful lot with my car obsession so she deserves to have it done right. Its time I focused on that, thus the offer.

berkeley man, I truly wish I was closer. I graduated to stay at home parent, and other than keeping my 19mo old kid from starting on fire, I don't have a lot to do. Any chance you can star trek yourself to Minneapolis/St. Paul? Nother buddy of mine is in a similar boat, has a garage full of tools and we both like weird E36 M3. I'd feel bad even buying one of them from you TBQH.

Ok, GRMers on FB gave me a hard time for posting there and not here so go easy on me. From the FB post (with later comments pasted in for explanation)

Well, after lack of interest in trying to sell the Wartburg and some good offers on her parts from people who weren't interested in the package I'm sad to say its the end of an era. Her drivetrain will live on powering a dune buggy (they took the brakes too in hopes of a retrofit, should be a monster when done), the CCW wheels will be going to a local Porsche racer and the STI interior and EJ2.0T were sold to someone rebuilding a WRX. The rest, well, let's not talk about the rest, its depressing. But I no longer have project overload looming over me, I have much needed garage space back and I can move on. Sad that she couldn't keep living her life of adventure but more people liked the idea of owning her than actually owning her so better to put her out of her misery.
Truth is I've never been known to be emotionally attached to cars. I tried to sell it, multiple times, no interest and the parts were worth more than the whole. I'll always have the memories and I didn't want them to be tainted by it rotting away in a garage. Life goes on, it was fun

Finally, I have some space again...hasn't been this clean/empty in years, now I just need to get the other garage in shape.

Well the guys that picked it up seemed amused by it and talked about a drag racer and I mentioned the wheelbase was the same as a Jeep so then they got weird offroader ideas. Basically I told them if they did something cool send me a picture, and if it became a refrigerator dont tell me.

Still available, an offer was made by the guys that took the shell but I wasn't quite ready to deal with sending both out like that today.

Bummer. Put me in the "wish I was closer" group of excuses. I feel heavy hearted...I wore my Wartburg t-shirt with pride (as usual) just yesterday. My Wartburg stickers now feel like stocks for a dead company...

I hope this isn't permanent! Without Misfit Toys Racing to compare to, my race cars start to look waaaay weirder.

Well I can't say I'll stop forever but I'm doing other things these days and I've just kinda lost my drive for the insane custom stuff. I'll still play with stuff but more along the lines of what Im doing with the Colony Park, just light restoration and some cosmetic customization.

I still have plenty of "stocks" (ie. Wartburg stickers) if anyone wanted them.

Wait...did you set this up for weeks or days? Are you really having health problems or was that a joke? Are the cars still for sale, or was that a joke too? Does this mean my stickers are worth more than zero cents still?

So confused...

The sale part is legit, both cars are still for sale, everything in the thread up until I claimed to have parted out the Wartburg is completely legit.

Looks like I torpedoed my own for sale thread with my little joke :)

I definitely shall but right now she's an easy one to live with. I might be getting carried away with it a bit, has turned into a bit more of a restoration project. But overall the work is easy and I dont have to do anything to her, she still fires up every time I need her to go somewhere and is a joy to drive (if you like big floaty cars)

Damn man. I just saw this post, I started a new job a month ago and haven't had a second to get on here. I was pissed when you posted you scrapped the WB, ONLY TO FIND OUT YOU WERE THE ONLY ONE to get me on an April Fool's Joke this year, well played sir.

Now I'm going to have to pass by as a window shopper, but damn, either of those would be a riot. I do hope someone here on GRM can 'keep it in the family'.
