stampie, I bet some Snails will Sail, but Fully Streetable? cars are Gastropods.
CAM Is SCCA speak for Classic American Muscle, think pro-Touring.
The Rest is Still Dog Eat Dog , this year that dog may Need a bath tho.

CAM is happening even if I am the only officially eligible entry to date. If it comes off the table, I sell the car and move on most likely.
In reply to AnthonyGS :
My car is CAM legal if I make it. But I'm planning on going as a Gastropod and neither me or my car will be a serious contender for the class though.
Cardboard bodied?
Themes are part of the Challenge if you choose to have one. Just showing up is enough.

Hmmm...I just looked over the SCCA CAM rules (as referenced by the GRM challenge page) and...basically it's any American front-engine RWD car? (excluding Jeeps and Vipers)
...hmmm...
Devious thoughts are forming in my brain...
In reply to slowbird :
Yeah the actual SCCA classes are split up by year too. I think with CAM-T(traditional)being body styles older than '89, CAM-C(contemporary) being anything newer. CAM-S is for 2 seaters and I forget what all else. The other part of CAM is basically full interior and 200TW tires. Not much else is outlined in the rules.
Now I'm wondering if I should attempt to buy a stock-block daily-driver Classic American Muscle car for under $1000 within 10 days of the event, just to try and qualify for all these at once.
Oh, and then I could prepare it in the parking lot and go for that award as well.
...actually, that's probably a recipe for winning this award:
Oh I don't plan to win any of them, just *qualify* for them
Then maybe I could get an honorary "try-hard" award.
In reply to pimpm3 :
I predict it wins based on your build thread. I’m just not going to have anywhere near that power. Your exterior is also prettier right now. But Chevy vs Ford will be fun.
In reply to pimpm3 :
I will be bringing my 92 Mustang for CAM. gonna be a good time. i was looking for one of these f bodies for my wifes challenge car. she might be getting an sn95 though.
Thought about bringing my '91 Firebird for CAM, but I'm over budget and need new tires. That '97 Z28 will beat me anyhow.

Here is my entry for the valve cover race.
Cool!
So this means you'll be at the challenge this year? AWESOME. You'll be in attendance when I enter the first ever Jaaaag.

That's a surefire way to guarantee a sneaky Dodge/Studebaker/DeSoto/Packard/AMC winner
In reply to Indy-Guy :
No I’ll find someone local going and send it along. Or maybe I’ll just ship it down.
I will be building a car to challenge specs but I won’t go. The cost of a trip like that will take a serious bite out of any planned racing budget.
I’ll take as many pictures as I can and do a detailed budget. But I like wheel to wheel racing.
