If I knew anything about transmissions I'd be on my way to pick this up as a Challenge contender. Over 300 hp in stock form and a manual trans. Add tires and nitrous and you'd likely be looking at a top 5 car. Just sayin'.

2000 Trans Am for $2,000. That will buff out. Kidding.
$1500 without the rims? Hello free ls1. Easy part out to recoup the entire purchase price. Wish it wasn’t so far away.
That is a very solid deal. Ugh. I wish I was in a position to grab it.
I sent him an email. I’ll be down that way for my nephews birthday tomorrow.
Is there evidence in the photos that this is not a v6 with a body kit? I’m no expert on these.
Conversation with wife:
The fog lights are Trans Am, V6 car had them out on the corners. Everything seems to indicate it is a V8 car.
Nobody sticking the trans am bumpers/hood/spoiler on a v6 is going to bother with the factory correct trans am badging on the doors, and it’s there.
Got a hold of him. It’s a v8 with 190k miles. He’s got several interested parties. I’m going to try to be the earliest guy with a trailer tomorrow.
Do it. The brakes will sell easy and so should the exhaust if it’s in good shape to a v6 guy. Same for rear axle. The trans even broken should be $800+.
Seller insists on holding for someone to look at it tomorrow afternoon rather than selling it to me in the morning.

HECK YES DUDE! Great Buy! Your wife is such a trooper.
Awesome. What's the engine going in?

I’m not sure what the plan is yet. Considering putting it in my miata or just flipping it. Not sure if I want to make the time sacrifice for a part out.
Sit it in your yard until challenge time running it once in a while and i’ll buy it for 2k.

When a blessing such as a virtually free LS1/T56 combo falls into one's lap, he must rise to the occasion and make awesomeness from it.
I hear you on the part out though. I still have most of the carcass from my 98 Camaro sitting around because i keep telling myself there is a lot left to part out before I scrap it, but I've already gotten my money back out of the low hanging fruit and can't seem to be bothered with parting the rest of it out. I either need to list some stuff or just scrap it soon.
After a few hours of thought, my current plan is to find an e36 roller to put this in...and try to keep the budget $2k friendly. So parting this out is likely in my future.
Drivetrain might be going in this
E36 shell
Yeah, do that
lt1swap.com has the diagrams you need to prune the harness to stand alone

Thank you for the tip. I wasn’t really hunting for another project, but it seems to have been hunting ME!
E36 was a bust. The whole front end was missing and otherwise in E36 M3 condition. I want a coupe anyway.

I've got 3 coupes that I need to let go of. Two 94 318is' 93 325is. One of the 318's is a driver but semi gutted interior the other two probably have cracked heads I haven't pulled a e36 head that just had a blown head gasket. The main thing is I'm on the Carolina side of Augusta Ga. I'm sure there are plenty more closer to you. I've been trying to find a way to let them go. We only have 1 local pull a part and thats where all the scrappers take them. I would hate to see what would happen to them there. I think it would be like watching a friend get eaten by zombies.
