Not mine, not affiliated, but you know what a cheap Porsche is right?

$20 says its the fuel pump relay. I had 2 924s and both went out. The first was had been previously hard wired and I did the same to the 2nd (yes, I was too cheap to buy the relay). It was also a quite common problem on the 1st gen Scirrocos and Jettas with the 1.8 fuel injection.
The turbos also happen to have a reputation for being mostly broken...
They seem to have one of the worst projects/driving cars ratio amongst all the P-cars.
how funny would it be to give the guy 1000, get the title in your hands, put a relay in it, and drive it away?

That's what I thought at first but I think somebody just tried to copy the stripes. The Martini Editions were all normally aspirated.
i dont think it's a fuel relay. it's most likely a timing belt. i just love it when they make a point to say "i am not a mechanic" this let's them off the hook. i always find it hard to believe that the owner didnt have someone look at car. but with that said if he was a lot closer i would be all over it. the early turbo examples are getting really hard to find and his starting price is in the ballpark. i bet $700.00 would buy it
Ha! I was about two seconds from buying that car when the previous owner was selling it earlier this year. I wondered who ended up buying it. The previous owner took it off the market when it quit running. He'd told me prior to that that the only issue was the paint, and said that the car was some sort of "special edition" that Brumos Porsche came up with. Even if it's not, it'd be a cool little car to have for less than $1000. If anybody's really interested I have some slightly less crappy photos that the previous owner sent me...

IIRC, even the 931 was 4-lug until 1981, but the 5-lug hubs could be checked as an option... I could be wrong...
Hmmmmm is right. it is getting hard to find turbo's running for under $2500.00 anymore and they bring $3500.00 to $4500.00 all the time. if it was only closer. if someone buys it for a challenge car i will buy the floor mats for $50.00
Those seats look nice for a 924 also, most of them have very flat seats. My martini seats were the worst.
Aftermarket seats... Previous owner had the originals but said they needed to be recovered.
Little bit shady that the new owner is just reusing an old photo...

I don't think they are the same car. The stripes are different. I cpuld be wrong though.
