FS: 1972 Datsun 1200

1972 Datsun 1200, this is one of those cars you just hang on to hoping to have the time to put it back on the track. I have been cleaning up the shop and this is really the last car I am going to sell. This car has NEVER been titled, it was damaged on new car delivery and turned into a racer then. I have the SCCA logbooks since 1976. Currently it is complete minus engine(A12 would be the best in class, turbo A14/15 or SR20 for a track car) and diff. It has a rear axle housing but the axles are just stubbed in. This car has always been very competitive, its last outing at Mid-Ohio in 2001 returned a third place. Prior to that it changed hands multiple times and was run infrequently; say ten times since 1989. Before '89 it was run most weekends in the southwest region, where it tore up the track and nearly always finished top three.

What it needs....engine and diff as mentioned above; lots of elbow grease. Every thing else is there just needs freshened up. If it were me I would grab a 510 wagon rear end and pop it in, drop a A12 in and go. BTW: I have two A12s lined up(1-St. Louis; 1- Michigan). It DOES NEED ONE bar in the cage due to a SCCA rule change since it has been out.

Thats a sweet little piece of history. I used to watch a similar GT 200 absolutly tear up a mixed field at SCCA clubevents up here in NH.

Actually it is a Suzuki fa50 but it is gone. Note my 47 Cushman hiding behind it :)
