UPDATE: 323 is gone. Price is $500 without 3-piece wheels. $750 with wheels.
Sadly, the "Rusteevuh" has been sitting in my basement for years now. Had surgery recently, medical bills are stacking up. Need to sell the house, which requires selling lots of unneeded, unsightly "stuff." Our plan was to run this at the Challenge YEARS ago, but I had kids, business grew, etc. Plan was to build a 13-second (or less) Festiva for less than $1k. We were going for a "rat-rod" theme, sanding the car to bare metal, then "adding" rust graphics (I can show you the PROPER way to do this if you buy the car,) chopping the top, adding flame-throwers, etc. Included in sale: 90-something Festiva. Completely stripped. Roughly half the car is (nicely...80 grit) sanded to bare-metal. 90-something(?) Mazda 323GT. Loaded down with scrap metal. Interior is still all there if you want to try to part out, but it's all VERY skanky. There's a scrap yard literally 5 minutes if you just want to do a quick load, dump, recoup. I believe I have both exhausts with cats which the local scrap yard pays (or used to pay) good coin for. B6T has been pulled from the 323GT. Ran like a raped-ape when pulled. Has "Grainger-valve" for adjustable boost. I *think* it also has a blow-off valve. Also have stock motor and trans from Festiva. Ran when pulled. Miscellaneous interior bits from Festiva, which was actually a REALLY nice, straight driver. Could be sold for recoup. Set of 13 X (???) 3-piece 4 X 100 wheels. Will also let you pick through the stack for a pair of 4 X 100 wheels for the drags if you NEED them. Miscellaneous turbo stuff (plumbing, volvo intercooler, etc.) 4 X 100 hubs from Aspire for FRONT. You will want to find an Aspire rear subframe (or at least axle/hubs) for 4 X 100 rear conversion. FULL DISCLOSURE: My driveway is STEEP. Both cars will need to be winched onto trailer. Again, scrap-yard is right down the road. I promised the Canexican he could have the wheels off the 323 for his Datsun. These will need to be pulled before squishing, or returned to me/him. I gave the wheels from the Festiva to Les (fastasleep,) so you'll need to bring a set of wheels for the rear in order to load onto trailer. I'll assist as much as I can, but I'm not in great shape to do much heavy lifting. (See: Surgery^^^) I do have an engine hoist you're welcome to use. I'll consider offers, but I think after re-coup, this could be one kick-ass Challenge car for sub $1k. May consider trade for a beater 4WD truck or 4-wheeler. Tried to hunt down pics on the forum but can't find 'em. Will be HAPPY to text/email pics though. BONUS: I'll let the buyer "pick through the pile" in the basement and parts will either be free or "get it the berkeley outta here" priced. Some 1G CRX stuff, stack of wheels, misc. suspension/turbo junk, etc. PS: PM's go to junk mail. You can email me at mike at hongnorr dot com.
Sorry to hear about the surgery and hope it all works out for the better (I guess that would be The Plan, yes??).
Good luck with your sale(s)!
Stan

The thread where I learned that the hole for the door lock could likely be plugged with a plug from somewhere else on the car. It's true.
This looks like a cool build.
This seems like an incredible start to a challenge car.
Can we parking lot build this?

DAMN DUDE! Thanks! Did a dozen searches for that thread & couldn't find it!!!
I may have cried like a bitch a little when I saw posts from Jon Haas
Cancer-free for now, but full-body scan and likely more surgery this month though. Good news is, I look like I've been in a bitchin knife-fight, so my story is "Back when I ran with the Hell's Angels..."
I'm not joking when I say bring all offers I need this E36 M3 gone so I can sell the house. If the cars don't sell in a month, they're both going to get cut-up to build iphones or pokemon cards or realistic sex-dolls or whatever.
I'd forgotten there are lots of decent Escort GT bits as well, pictured in that thread.
There's also a cheap storage place down the road if it's not convenient to grab both cars in one swat.
PS: After Jon died, this was going to be our tribute to him. I highly suggest the buyer do the same to keep it real...maybe even throw in some love for Jensenman, Swarfsalot, etc. Do the right thing and use this thing as a tribute to our fallen comrades, and Kaptain Karma will smile upon you, GUARANTEED!!!
DO_IT! DO_IT!!!

Waitaminute.....
Sell house? Cancer surgery? Are you alright?
Damn, cancer sucks. Keep us posted if you don't mine.
I wholeheartedly support a tribute car to all the awesome people from around here.
I would be willing to drive a fairly ridiculous distance to help a team pull that together.

Those are some solid scars.
Someone get this to the challenge and I'll do my best to get there as it's a cousin to my BG chassis 323 build.
Also I'll see if I can get Dez White to come out down to challenge him to a 1/4 mile footrace.
I'm sure Svrex can break out the tandem bike again.
In reply to Spinout007:
Between the bike, handbike and flight time I'll have logged in the week prior I'm not sure that sitting down is going to be my friend.
We're "downsizing" and moving to some family farm-land, so to update trade-bait:
ANYTHING with 4wd. BEATER truck, sidekick, etc.
...and the list of stuff I'll throw in is growing. I've got the same Kirkey "circle track" seat we've run in every challenge car, racing belts I purchased from batvan dan, dodge "pizza" wheels, other misc turbo dodge stuff, escort GT wheels, a bolt in cage that could be modified to fit in the Festiva (though I doubt it would pass anything but challenge tech with a $20 bill taped to it.) And a bunch of other stuff I'm probably forgetting.

Plot twist...
At your new home will you have the space to work on the project and get it and yourself to Gainesville where it would receive coverage from a publication reaching a target market those active in club racing and autocross.
What I'm getting at is, though it would aid you in the challenge budget portion of things, you're medical issues, story, plans and potential exposure for the project once completed is likely worth $500 for more than 2 sponsors to get involved with. Every one you get beyond those initial two would be more money then the sale of the project would yield. You'll likely see some additional sponsor ineterest if you werw to donate space on the vehicle to shout the praises of the medical care system from which you received treatment and the vehicle is showcased at some fundraising events they host as a beacon of hope and opportunities of what their survivors are doing post recovery. All of which would increase exposure and create values for those backing the project.
I'd be interested in helping you put together a sponsorship proposal and mini media kit if you'd be interested in entertaining that idea. Dzajano (at) Gmail is the best way to get in touch.

Damn. Interesting. I'll noodle on it and shoot you an email.
Main thing right now is getting everything OUT. Sadly, I no longer have a truck or trailer. I'll see if I can figure something out there.
...OR You can buy the WHOLE HOUSE - 3BR/2BA - ~1500 Square feet + 1500 Square foot basement/garage on 1.2 acres with creek and cul-de-sac privacy for $159,999 and I'll throw in both cars and ALL the parts for FREE! Just sayin....

Sweet deal if Georgia is your jam.
Mazda goes to the crusher as soon as I can find someone to haul it off....
Send me some details on the house? Tom@ this website.
It's a long shot, but I have a friend that seriously might want that.
