Looking to see if anyone has the late 90's to early 2000's mustang brakes for sale.
Looking for Either:
a.) Mustang dual piston (known as PBR) front calieprs, brackets, rotors, pads if you got em.
b.) full cobra, front and rear brake rotors, calipers, brackets, pads.
c.) Rear cobra brake rotors, brake calipers.
Looking for Challenge budget items for my thunderbird MN12.
I'd love to find some cobra rear hubs but am not willing to pay the $200 premium they command each.
Soooo I just did a search on 'Mustang brake*' for just the same thing. Does anybody know of any cheapish places for specific brake parts for the various Mustang models besides car-part.com? I will resort to that or local u-pull-its in my spare time unless somebody's got something better (or different).
It you are near York, PA I have some take offs parts from an '06 Shelby.
BTW, my PM does not work. Was hoping GRM could change it to my current email. So you'll have to leave a note here and we can get a text going.
I am not any more - I moved back to the Boston area. Still miss PA though... SWMBO hates Pennsylvania. Ugh.

Back to my post the reason I said something cheaper than car-part.com is the shipping can eat into my budget. While I LOVE u-pull-its I do not have easy access to one.
I have a complete set of rear Cobra brakes, 94-02. Caliper brackets, calipers, rotors, and pads. From an 04 Mach 1 with 40k miles. Hoses too, I think. I'd let them go super reasonable.
In reply to Javelin :
I am VERY interested. I know I want the twin piston PBR calipers off the'96-98 cobras (and maybe others, need to research more), would you happen to have pics of the calipers in question?
In reply to chknhwk :
The twin piston PBR's are the fronts on Cobras. These are the rears. Single piston, larger rotors (11.3" IIRC?). Used on 96-02 Cobra and 03-04 Mach 1. Maybe even 03-04 Cobra, but with different brackets and such because of the IRS. These are bolt-on to any fox-body, SN95, or New Edge 8.8" rear.
Ah sorry Javelin, I got a little excited!
How much are you looking to get for all of it?
Andy, no texts or emails yet - just lmk when you send something so I can look out for it.
In reply to chknhwk :
I dunno, it's just taking up space in my shed. I'm never going to need it. Make an offer. Should fit in 2 large flat rate boxes.

Typed in your number and it was in my address book. I can try to get pics soon and send them to you. I should be able to haul them to you in a few months. What's your time line?

My timeline is quite long - if I get them completed this year I'd be happy.

In reply to Javelin :
Would $75 cover the shipping on all that?
If the other options do not work out, I have a set of front brakes from a 2005 Mustang GT. Rotors and pads have ~3000 miles on them. The calipers are twin piston aluminum and have very low miles on them (under 1000). The caliper brackets have about 50k miles on them but are in good shape. Located in Indiana. $75 plus shipping for all of it.
In reply to chknhwk :
Probably. How quick do you need them?
In reply to Javelin :
Not any time soon, it's still pretty chilly up here so maybe s month? I'm easy and not in a rush. If it's more just let me know.
In reply to fusion66 :
Very interested. I REALLY want the PBR calipers but I looked up the rotor size and that might be perfect for what I'm doing. Give me an idea on shipping to 02190 please.
In reply to chknhwk :
I have checked USPS, UPS, and FedEx. Unfortunately, the rotors are a slightly too big to fit in a flat rate USPS box as that would be the cheapest option at around $39 to ship all of the parts in 2 boxes. Both UPS and FedEx would charge about $65 for shipping via ground. I will pick up a flat rate box from USPS and see if the rotors will squeeze in and still allow the box to seal properly.
In reply to fusion66 :
OK, lmk.
I did find a set of PBRs on Facebook (although in pretty rough shape) which should work. If shipping ends up being prohibitively expensive and you'd rather sell locally I understand.
Javelin and fusion66, do you guys have updates on shipping costs? I can PayPal (or Cash app or Google Pay) whenever, just let me know.
In reply to chknhwk :
Sorry, I didn't have a chance yet. I have tomorrow off, so I'll do it then.
In reply to fusion66 :
Hey fusion, sent you a message - be on the lookout
Got it and responded. Thanks
Looks like 2 USPS large flat rate boxes is the most economical way to send them.
In reply to Javelin :
Thanks for the update! Would $75 still cover everything or do you need a bit more?
