A little early, but I'm thinking of scheduling a post-Challenge Zoom call in the 2 weeks after the event. Give non-attendees a chance to ask questions, newbies to learn some tricks, and attendees to re-hash all the fun.
EDITx2: We are on for 7pm EDT on Tuesday 11/1. I will post the Zoom link in this post about 15 minutes before the call. If you don't have Zoom on your electronic device of choice (phone, tablet, computer), you can join this meeting without adding the app (See FAQ HERE). I will also add call-in numbers, but you will not see any of the participants or photos that are shared onscreen.
Sounds fun to me, should be able to join any time.
Sun/Monday/Tuesday work here
Just a thought to discuss...
$2,000 in the year 2000 is the same as $3,447 in 2022 because of inflation.
Maybe the drop in entries is because it is becoming financially harder to do under $2k.
Just saying.... YMMV

Bring this up at the town hall. I'm normally not in favor of a # jump but the last 2 years have seen a stupid tax on car/part values overall (unless you do a TON of hunting). Now, this may be correcting someone, but I'd be interested to hear what competitors are seeing. Not everyone can buy a donor car to strip and recoup $.
Finally, a Zoom call I actually want to join.
=======
The inflation thing always comes up, but I think the cars are still getting faster thanks to DIY ECUs, chinese turbos and tire/brakes being exempt.
If anybody wants to, dig up 1/4 mile times and fine the median time from each year. I bet they've gone down, maybe significantly.

If you're reading this, come down to Stampie's bar after sunset. We have beer, a blowtorch, and the stuff to make smores!

I have budget thoughts that I'd share in a zoom.
Y'all better be happy that I'm yet to make it down there because the town hall meeting would be like festivus when George's father stands up and says I've got a lot of things to say and now you're going to hear about them.

I'll be in the back yelling, "serenity now"
Buying a running driving car seems to be going up but I'm finding used parts are getting cheaper. If you can build a car you could go awfully fast, disappointed in the lack of truck engine turbo combos at the challenge.
I would like to have a Zoom call to hear everyone's thoughts on the new Challenge format.

And we all want you to be there!
Updated OP. Let's shoot for the week of October 30th on this. There is so much to talk about and I don't want it to get too far away from the event.
How would 7pm on Tuesday night, November 1st work?
I'd like to jump in if I can. The only day that is troublesome would be Halloween night as I stay out with my kids.
In reply to Slippery :
Yeah, I wouldn't do that to people.
I am 100% on board with this zoom call. Count me in
In reply to hobiercr :
Add me to the have to work that night list. Yet again.... been hosed on multiple events this contract...
