NMNA again, but this looks like too much $ to pass up between the quick change, coil overs, wide 5 hubs, rack, etc...

That's pretty much the rearend/wheel setup I wanted for my RX-7 but decided not to do it because it would cost too much money. I have a soft spot for any street car running Wide 5, and the idea of driving to a rallycross on a nice sleazy tall rearend gear and then unbolting the diff cover, flipping two gears, and driving something in the 6:1 range would absolutely rock.
If I'd have waited, I could have bought that thing, unbolted the rearend, and left the chassis on the side of the road for scrappers to take away, and still done well for myself. Assuming that everything in the rearend is in good shape.
i'm efforting it for myself, i slept on it and it's a good idea.
I'm having horribly evil thoughts about this thing. Like interchangeable bodies evil.
i'm going tomorrow at 3 to look at it. with empty trailer. what a wonderful thing that it's near menards, which i need to go to anyway for cabinet building materials.
if it looks as good as the pics, it's coming home with me.

mine
winters rear, wilwood discs all around, afco aluminum body coil overs, sweet mfg steering rack. not sure what i'm going to do with it yet but it needed bought. the guy who had it was a cool old guy, neat stories, and it was sitting next to a 30's circle track coupe that his dad ran and was eventually killed in. that car was a conversation piece, and i tried to see if it was available, but he wants to keep it in the family. he had an old rollback with a bunch of 9" rears on it, a rolling chassis for a 70's lincoln with a disc brake 9", and some other neat stuff. i was tempted to ask about buying anything car related in a lot but it's too far to be going back and forth for much junk to get a few gems. he's moving south and selling everything.
oh yeah, for challenge documentation purposes in case i use any of the parts, he took $600 for it.
as far as i can tell between the axle, rack, brakes, shocks, springs, links, there is at least 5 grand of parts here if purchased new.
Needs to be a ghettocet.
Or drape a dart/duster/demon body and title over it.
Any which way,it needs challenge glory

$1416, offered $600 and it wound up on my trailer.
no plan right now. i have a couple thoughts, but nothing worth discussing until things develop. maybe not discussing them at all until something works.
did some measuring. 105" WB, everything is square. the only thing offset for roundy round racing is the rear axle, it's kicked to the right. that's as simple as can be to center up, all the brackets are clamp on not weld. it has a 4 link with a torque arm and a pull bar on the torque arm. that's some circle track stuff there. i can delete the upper links on the ends and replace the torque arm and pull bar with a proper upper link and have a 3 link quite easily since everything is already there. panhard has enough adjustment between the end link and multiple holes on the rear axle bracket that the axle can move and the panhard doesn't need shortened. even the front control arms are all the same length side to side and not offset.
hopefully the calipers are good as they're beautiful wilwood aluminum bits. the boots on the rack are wasted from uv exposure but the rack runs smooth, so new boots and it should be good. one strut rod on the front is bent, probably from transport at some point, but they're all off the shelf afco bits and super cheap from speedway.
motor mid plate looks like chevy stuff, that should be easy enough. pretty sure i know where to find a chevy engine or ten.

To make a long story short, they are used to help control the movement and torque reaction of the rear axle. If you want some more details, this link gives some info: http://www.hotrod.com/how-to/chassis-suspension/ctrp-0403-dirt-car-setup-tips/

Different chassis and underpinnings, but you might be able to do similar with this one.
Then again, there is a guy on here hillclimbing something very much like what you have there...
Also, I cannot recall the name of the group, but isnt there a group road racing those?

15 years ago I saw a CP Camaro that was essentially a dirt-track car with its plastic "Camaro" bodywork. I vaguely remember looking into it at the time & there was a weight penalty or something for running the full tube chassis. No idea what the rules are today.

Weight penalty for "in excess" in CP is still 10% of base weight. Lowest base weight for a V8 is 2700 (less than 310 cid) so penalty is 270 lbs. Just find a CP car that has the same wheelbase as the chassis and go for it.
