Basically, the vehicle has to be at least 30 years old OR have a FMV under $3000. I did a notarized Bill of Sale for the guy, too. And there's some other documentation required if the vehicle is less than 30 years old, but not horrendous.

Basically, this is the sort of thing every state should do, because it generally isn't worth dealing with ancient worthless crapcans that aren't likely to have been stolen but just sat around forever and the title got lost because someone died.

In reply to volvoclearinghouse: Absolutely. SC is a bitch to such a point I won't even look at a no-title car unless its just a parts car. I've heard it can be easy or damned near impossible here. There is a "missing title" TR3 just across the border that they just dropped the price on a lot.

Thanks! I have a couple that would qualify for this. Very old and not worth much but I'd still like to be able to register them.
