Mattelica continues to live her best life in Texas; this month we are clearly doing ALL the car things - today was a hometown car show of 850+ cars. Everything from Ford Model A's to 1957 Chevys to low rider trucks to all 8 generations of Corvette to Lambos. But, hey, we were the only stickered up racecar in the group!
And here's some inspiration for you chassis swap fans:
Awesome, and good to see you here!
Answering your question, today was the day to take care of family things, and catch up on some sleep. Tomorrow my autocross car will get some work. FL state championship is next week, the challenge car will have to wait.
I signed up the civic for the Florida state autocross championship since I sold my xsb MR2 Friday.
Let's see if a $2000 challenge civic can be victorious in HS.
I worked on the shifter linkage, rear sway bar mounting hardware, chasing a leak in the fuel tank and dropped the rear subframe on the parts car.
The rear subframe will get fresh bushings on the arms and new brake calipers and then will go onto the 323. Sadly the parts car will be going away within the next 60 days or so, I'll miss it, it's saved me no fewer than 4 times on the escort and I originally purchased it for the 323, hooray for platform sharing.
I've been using a past challenge rampage as a firewood truck actually
I looked at mine out in my dads yard. Im thinking hard about 2024. Unless I hit the lotto.
The wheels my daughter traded onto her 2021 car went back to my sons 2020 car today. I returned some wheel I borrowed for potential challenge use from Dyinto. The 2022 car, (mine, i think) took lots of my day with research on whether I will use the engine I always planned to use or whether I can make something newer work in budget.

You know you can only spend $2000 on it, right?

But if he enters a fleet of Challenge cars statistically his odds of winning increase substantially.

Vacation time from work & Travel costs from Utah aren't cheap.
You Floridians don't know how fortunate you are to have the event in your backyard.

As someone from near the Canadian border in Idaho, I agree
A $2000 budget car actually costs a bunch more than $2000 after you account for everything that is budget exempt. Then there's entry fees, and travel expenses. But also I'd pretty much have to quit my job, since I don't have any vacation time. But that's all part of the game. Mostly just saying I'll be back, but be patient.

Nothing. I looked at it briefly, sitting in the corner gathering dust. A quick repair on my wife's daily took priority and I decided working on the toy car could wait until tomorrow...
It might not look as cute, but this one is quicker than that toyota

Loaded it up on the frame table and pushed it into the corner. Hoping to find a sheet to keep the dust off it while I work on other things for a while.

That Fiat looks sad sitting in the corner.
The Zoomboni lost a few stickers, an oil change, and a swap to it's winter storage tires. Then back into the trailer for a winter's nap.
