Special deal, just for you...
Today is October 15. The Challenge begins on October 23. I will not be there.
There is an excellent chance that I will be buying another car tomorrow morning, and the driveway is getting a little crowded. As such, I am offering up this car, at this price, simply so that I can advertise it here and in the hope that someone will decide to make it a last minute Challenge entry.
2000 Miata with approximately 115k miles on it.
The Good:
It is mechanically perfect. I even changed the oil last week. Just get in and drive.
The following items have been done since January:
--Timing belt and water pump, along with new A/C and power steering belts
--New plugs and NGK wires
--New brake rotors and EBC brake pads
--New brake fluid
--New clutch slave cylinder and fluid
--KYB shocks
--Shifter rebuilt, fluid changed and new shifter boots
--Redline transmission fluid and rear differential fluid
--New muffler
--Blaupunkt stereo with auxiliary input
--Ice cold A/C
--New battery
Original seats are perfect with no tears.
The top has been replaced. Glass rear window with defrost.
The bad:
It looks better in pictures.
You're not gonna win the Concours. The body has more than it's share of dents, dings and peeling clearcoat. There is rust ahead of the driver's side rear wheel and a little on the passenger's side wheel arch. But...I have a pair of new aftermarket quarter panels that I will include. You wouldn't need the whole panels but could easily cut them down into small patch panels.
The car rolls on a set of General Altimax Arctic tires mounted on the original alloy wheels. The tires have less than 1000 miles on them. If there is more than a foot of snow on the ground in Gainesville at the time of the Challenge, I will personally guarantee that this car will win the autocross and take second in the drags or your money back.(Andy Nelson will still kick your ass in the snow).
The car is in Connecticut and I would not hesitate to drive it any distance to the Challenge. This offer is good for as long as it takes me to clean up the car a bit and get it posted on eBay and Craigslist, where I will most certainly be asking more for it.
Buy my car and bring it to the Challenge. It will make me feel like I am there in spirit.
