Hey guys....picked up a challenge priced (with room to spare!) 85 928 project yesterday and am looking for some parts.

I could use the front lower spoiler....doesn't have to be in great condition at all, but fair to decent would be nice.

I could use dark blue interior parts....pretty much anything but the door panels are needed...especially front and rear seats. I would also consider other colors like beige, black, grey, etc as long as it's a complete set.

I could also use one chrome 16x7 manhole cover style wheel like this:

Any leads appreciated!

I have a buddy that's selling those style wheels (not polished though) with good tires (IIRC) PM me if you're interested, and I'll ask him for details.

I actually found the wheel I need off eBay tonight and went ahead and bought it. Thanks though.

Still need a chin spoiler and interior.

Not much in the way of spares but I have an early 86. Best I can tell Porsche didn't actualy build any 86 928s. Early cars are left over 85s and after sn 1000, they are S4 chassis that's back-dated with the old style bumpers. Ford 24lb injectors will give you a little more oomph. Simplify the wiring and ditch the luxo stuff and they're pretty sturdy 300 hp cars. Check hoses, they tend crack under the intake and the front fuel hose.

I'm already planning for exhaust, later fpr, injectors, and chips. I was going to leave it alone for awhile, but my buddy's 81 with aftermarket exhaust sounds so much better than mine stock, so here I come project creep. Plan on doing fuel and vacuum lines while I'm in there to do the fpr. I also need to check the tb tension. This car has a lot of miles so we'll see how it holds together with the mods and my right foot.

Awesome, thanks. My buddy also has an 81 euro spec, which is the whole reason I stated looking for one. After driving his car I was hooked.

Just thought I would update... Im meeting up with the guy parting 928s on Sunday. It looks like I might end up buying the whole car to get the part I want. Is there anything else you are in need of?

If I buy the car I will need to turn it around fairly quickly. i.e. pull off what I want a junk the rest.

FYI - its an '82 Euro car. IDK much else at this point.

In reply to NordicSaab:

I need the front chin spoiler, rear hatch latch, main headlight relay (the big one that is around 80 bucks new), and I might also be interested in the interior depending on condition and color. I'm sure I'll need more once I really dig into the car but that's the current list. I got a replacement wheel so am good on wheels now. Before you junk the car I may also be interested in other stuff just to have spares. Thanks!

In reply to NordicSaab: I could use a few bits like rear side window trim, a seat switch and side mirror switch

Went and looked at the cars the guy was parting out.

I bought a motor, but not really much of the car left to speak of... I asked if he had a front spoiler. He said he had none.

The cars were basically shells. Sorry guys :/

I have power 944 seats that have been in storage for a while. Will need work.

In reply to octavious:

Thanks for the offer, and I think those would work in a 928, but I ended up finding some seats in Atlanta and am picking them up friday.

I really like it. This one needs a lot of tlc, so I'll be going through it slowly and then use it as a dd when I'm not riding my motorcycle.

In reply to markwemple:

I replaced some oil seals on mrs. Oldtin's 928. Pulling the oil pan means dropping the subframe and raising the engine. Things are packaged tightly, but engineered decently for access if you follow the manual. A lot is accessible from below. Will be doing a timing belt and tensioner when the weather warms up around here.

Been using it as a daily since crashing the e39. It's comfortable and can keep up with the soccer moms

Yeah it is, but still easier to work on than my old 944 turbo. I really hated working on that car.

On my old 944 it drove me nuts the appearance of room to work on things
