Out of curiosity, what is so great about these. I understand nostalgia is a big part. It seems anyone who grew up in the 60's and 70's has fond memories of running around on them. Is there anything else?

I find the prices on these things funny. There is very clearly no shortage of them on the market. There were at least 100 of them at the Portland swap meets last week. I am not exaggerating at all. At a minimum 100 of them for sale within a few square miles, yet it seemed that every seller considered them rare and desirable since basket cases and parts bikes were priced at $450 and rough runners were in the $1500 area.

I also didn't notice any one buying any of them though :shrug:

titled streetable ones are harder to find, they are reliable, 'peppy' and get great gas mileage, and are just plain cooler than buy a new metro/vepsa/ETC

IIRC they had a two speed final drive: low range and high range. That and four speeds makes a handy little scooter. If that was near me I would already own it. I could use it on my next job.
