Looks clean... NOT AFFILIATED

I like these cars, and the price isn't too bad, but it's too far away and in a Rust Belt area.
Seller says this car is a 5 speed, I thought these were 4 speed? (It wouldn't be until the early to mid '70s before the Japanese would lead the way and offer cars with 5 speed transmissions, and then it was an option.)
Doesn't look too bad from the pics but can't see the important parts. As for 5-speed, swapping in a Getrag or an early S-10 5-speed (cable clutch) is a popular swap. 4-speed was stock. Although not mentioned, a swap could have been done at the same time as the GT engine, at least GT valve cover and Weber was installed. Opel put basically the same 1.9L engine in their cars (GT, Manta, Kadett,1900 Ascona) biggest difference is the engine trim. Some internal differences but not enough to really matter that much. GT engine has a cast aluminum valve cover and oil pan, the rest used stamped steel valve cover and oil pan.
Or most likely the owner is confused.
