Any pre-74 911S commands an absurd amount of money. 911T's and E's are better drivers, once you fix the suspension on an E.
In reality, they are over rated, just like the 356. Ive owned long hoods and 356s. If you love that look buy a later car and back date it.

If I was looking I wouldn't buy anything older then a 1978 or so. I believe that's when they started to build them with galvanized steel. In the Midwest rust is always an issue with any old car.
Galvanizing started around 1970 but was only partial, go figure. Full galvanizing started during 1975
If you want a 911 that really holds up to rust, you have to start with a 996. Even 993s like to rust

Yeah no kidding. I own and like both, but they are totally different experiences.
