Oof. Slushbox. These are "tolerable" with a manual. The automatic behind the 5 cylinder 300D is OK, but here? Forget it.

The auto trans is a negative but it can be swapped out and this in not some collectable car so who would care?

If the body is relatively rust free, this is a win. No matter what condition it is in when you sold it later, some W123 fan would snatch it up for $1000. The following for these cars is remarkable.

A W123 fan might snatch it up, but that's not a W123. That's a W115 which I find even more desirable.

I would buy that in a second if it were on my side of the country.

Oops, my bad. I stand corrected. Bad goof on my part, considering I owned both in the 80s
