I almost don't want to post this, there is much want. I'm really tempted. How bad are the clutches to do on these? Doesn't look difficult.

Selling my 1979 Triumph Spitfire. $ 2,000.00 Firm, No trades.

Rebuilt starter and alternator.

Replaced Brake pads and shoes, rotors and drums. Suspension: leaf spring and rear shocks. Really too much too list: lights, fluids, tires, battery, clutch slave cylinder, master clutch cylinder, and installed battery disconnect with red key. Too many new parts to list all.

Has hard top too, all glass, good seals, needs one rear hold down to secure properly.

Driver's Door handle broke by last looky looser with no money and too much muscle. Needs TLC.

Needs clutch, but I can still drive to show or load only. Can still give test drive to serious buyers.

I am 6'2" and 220 lbs. and can drive it just fine. If you have bad knees, bad back or a big belly need not apply, won't fit, sorry.

I'm not a Spit expert, but I've done them on Midgets.

The easiest way I know of is to pull the engine and trans together, which is not a big deal. I know some people leave the trans in the car, but I had no luck with that method.

Be sure and order yourself a clutch alignment tool. Vicky Brit and Moss sell them. You'll be happy you did!

The Spits are simple and easy to work on. Good handling car too. Very LOW center of gravity. That's a really nice looking one too.

On my 64 the trans tunnel is bolted to the floor,4 bolts I think but it has been a long time. Unbolt the tunnel and you should be able to get to everything from there inside the car.

It's easy to remove the non-OD trans from inside the car. The OD trans is not as easy as its longer and heavier. The tunnel is removable. I think I removed the engine and trans when I replaced my non-OD with an OD. The whole unit is ridiculously easy to remove in a Spit.

EDIT: more opinion.

That is not a bad price with the hard top and its apparent good condition. An OD tranny would make it a cherry.
