1982 Porsche 924 roller in very good condition. My dad has been driving this under full electric power for the last 3 years. He's pulled the motor/controller/batteries to move to a Ranger he's almost finished 'restoring'. The original motor is gone, but the oe driveshaft and transaxle are still in place. Paint is decent, seats are recovered, no rust to speak of, been garaged the last 5 years. $500. He's asked me to post it to CL but I thought it might be a good platform for a challenge build.

more pics available. We're located an hour south of downtown Indy.

thanks for looking....mark mthomson@tls.net

Oh my god oh sweet baby jesus, that looks exactly like a slightly less green tinted version of the non-running (until we replaced the fuel pump relay) $900 two-tone 924 that was my first car. This is killing me.

Oh god, if I had even spare street parking.

I came into this thread thinking "How bad is THIS one going to be?"

I am leaving this thread thinking "How hard could it be?"

The hood standoffs in the picture are there to bring cool air across the electric motor. The interior is as nice as the exterior.

This has been a driving ev for the last 3 years, self contained with onboard charger and vacuum pump for the power brakes.

All queries responded to.

How wrong would it be to put a rotary in it?

Rotary has been done:

Cross member is an issue apparently.

Audi 5-cylinders fit quite nicely and sound nasty.

An Audi V8 could work as well (the 928 motor fits between the strut towers better than it does on the 928, heh) Only trick is the brake booster (hydro boost or manual brakes)

In the planning stages to take a look in person this weekend. I really don't need this car but I've never let that get in the way before, so why start now

I hope you weren't disappointed when you saw it in person. My dad has a lot of work in that thing, and rust free 924s are likely pretty rare in the midwest.

In reply to mthomson22:

yeah, i was so disappointed i bought it. Seriously though, the car is really clean. I plan putting it back to stock for the most part. i can't wait to get it home. I'm happy to have a project car that doesn't really need any body or interior work.
