I'm contemplating heading a different direction for a 2013 Challenge Car and Fastest Track car entry so we may be putting the following up for sale, let me know if you think it is reasonable:
1993 BMW 325 coupe - Auto with engine that runs but needs water pump per previous owner. Body has dent in right rear quarter panel but I have a repair panel to fix. Interior is pretty rough but it does have a nice after market radio/CD player. After market wheels on car.
1998 BMW M3 drivetrain - we stripped an M3 that had been hit in the front of the entire drivetrain including the ZF manual transmission, driveshaft, rear limited slip diff assembly, ECU and engine. I've got the intake (S50?) that is supposed to boost performance and it goes with the engine. Also have all the suspension pieces and bilstein struts and rebuilt bilstein sport rear shocks. I have a number of new urethane bushings for front and rear that go with it as well.
1998 BMW M3 Convertible - we stripped all usable/saleable parts off this and it would go with the package to help offset the cost of the build - all interior, gauges, all sensors, pedals, the automatic roll bars, dash, wiring harness for car and for engine, Interior (seats) are rough as the previous owner sold the top and did a lousy job covering the car so seats would need to be recovered but they are complete.
2 additional sets of M3 wheels (staggered) - 2 bent but repairable.
Additional - 2 front fenders fair condition in need of minor repair, Spare trunklid with lip spoiler, 1 additional hood - fair condition some bondo in it.
The plan was to swap the M3 drivetrain into the 325.
$5000 for everything - let me know

Sounds like a great deal for $2013.

In '98 that would be a 3.2L S52 OBDII with a ZF 5 speed (not a getrag) and a 3.23 LSD.
Do you have urethane rear subframe and trailing arm bushings you would sell seperately and what color are they (purple? black?)
Hey, wasn't the price originally listed as $4500? Either way, it appears to be more than $2013.
I am willing to bet he would sell the three different things for less than $2013 each.
In reply to dculberson:
Mr. Culberson wins - they would individually be less than $2013 each, I'd like to sell everything together but would entertain offers. Thanks Snorklewacker for the clarification I was going on what our "BMW Guy" on the team said for the tranny - I do have purple bushings (new). If things go separately I will let you know. Price was $4500 and then I added in all of the body parts and spares.

How much for engine, tranny, intake, ecu? I'd liketo swap into my 318ti. Is the m3 drivrshaft required too? I'M no bummer expert, but I don't think the diff would fit.
I would guess you would want to go with the driveshaft as well but I'm no expert either. If your car is an E36 the diff should fit and I would think you would want the limited slip. 3K for the drivetrain and I'll throw in the engine and car wiring harness so you have everything.
In reply to mw:
the diff won't fit any trailing arm e36 cars easily.

Damn... almost wish I had more time and space... it sounds like the S53 would go nicely in my E30... somebody should buy that and my car... ![](/media/img/icons/smilies/wink-18.png)

It's a very easy swap - you need E28 motor mounts and to modify one of the factory S52 headers a little (or buy long tubes, I have a spare set if you are really interested), and fab up an exhaust yourself.
Then, you need the E36 firewall side engine harness connector and an E30 engine harness connector to make a nice little wiring adapter (you could cut the harness but that is for messy people).
You need an M3 or 328 drive shaft ('96+).
If you go OBDI manifold with OBDII harness you need to make some modifications to get it to work. If you swap to OBDI you need an ECU, harness and some sensors from an early car.

Sounds great! You can buy my car, put it all together and then post pretty pictures! ![](/media/img/icons/smilies/laugh-18.png)

Sorry. I'm all booked up. No more trailing arm BMWs for me.
I actually just took an S52 out of my E30 to fit an S54 and build a proper rear suspension for it.
This picture isn't pretty... but it's the car that I swapped the S52 into when it came out of my E30. Building a cage in this mess next week.

I'm trying to insert pictures but do they have to be via a URL or can you upload files? If the latter how do you do it?
In reply to fisherking60:
There's no image hosting on the GRM forum, so you need the URL of the photo wherever it's stored. Then you click the little camera icon above the smilies and paste it in there, or you can put the HTML straight in the comment, like: <img src="URL HERE" />
You'll want to upload the pictures to a photo sharing site like Photobucket and then link to them in your post.
Photos added to original post. More to come.
