This is a friend of mines. It runs, but by what he described to me, it's sounds like it has an issue with the IAC. It just revs up for no reason and it seems to do it only when it's in Drive. The other issue is that the one or two of the brake lines have rusted out, so there are no brakes. There's also a dent on the rear passenger quarter. No radio. Glovebox latch is broken.

He told me that he doesn't want to take it to the scrapyard until scrap prices goes up, so it sounds like it will sit around for a while.

$500 - Steger, IL Right off of I-394

Honestly, I'd take it off his hands if I had the money.

I would be VERY tempted to drive up there if it were a manual... If you do buy it SBF, I have a 3.0 motor that supposedly only has 65K miles on the bottom end with rebuilt heads on top. I am in Mid MO.

Heck, if I had the room I'd buy it just to part out.....

I could always use a spare 3.2L block and such, also, I will tell you the MAF is the issue with the revving.....IAC wouldn't rev, it'd cause stalling.

You should see them polished then......

And now I shall cuss my darling husband for bringing home the Lincoln. This would have been a much better choice of project.

Oh it's authorized.....by me. He's the one being a jerkface about it. Something about garage space and my motorcycle and time or some such nonsense. He also keeps talking about it being 'wrong wheel drive', but I don't see how that matters when he has the Lincoln...

Remember what I said a few days ago about spouses and $300 vehicles?

She deserves this, and I'll bet that her's is back on the road first.

Like I said, I wish I had the money, but I thought maybe I could fix it, drive it for a bit, then flip it.

He has no motivation to fix it.

Well tried to talk to SWMBO about possibly getting this to flip and she made it clear that it's not happening.

Supposedly we have too many "projects" which is usually to the extent of folding clothes or cleaning the livingroom.

Flip a sho.......lmao, you don't "flip" sho's.......you throw money at them and either part them for a profit or sell them whole for a loss.......I did make $100 on my first '89 though.....I bought it for a whopping $50

I don't see a reason why you couldn't flip one.

With sticky tires and worn out OE suspension, I'm sure you could.

You could, just not in the community. When we want a 3.2L, we just buy an auto car(generally sub $500) and go.......3.0L blocks and pistons are nearly worthless right now, crank is the same for both.....atx's are always considered bad unless new, etc....

To someone who needed a car, as long as that ran fine after its fixed, didn't smoke, didn't leak oil, interior condition, etc.....would be maybe a $1200-1500 car with that body damage. Manual cars pull a premium to the community, and well......every 60k they're down for close to $5-600 in parts for the maintence schedule. People don't pay attention to this last one, which is why the cars end up in you pull it around the corner.....

Well, that's kind of the point. If I were to purchase it to flip it, it wouldn't be to sell it to people who know SHOs like the back of their hand, it would be to sell it to people who would want an SHO who has possibly never owned one. There are people out there.

I also get that the manual is much much more favorable, but the truth is that the Automatics are out there too. Honestly, I have never seen a 2nd Gen SHO with a manual in my life except for on the computer.
