Looks great.
If anyone is considering, This car would qualify you for The Aristocracy and therefore allow you to compete as an Aristocrat in The $2015 Challenge.
Wow, nice. But why would it be FWD only? That seems silly... Removed the driveshaft? How would you do that?
Man, I'm tempted, but is so far aways...

If it is like the Volvo awd wagons there is a "transfer case" that goes bad and the easy fix is to pull the shaft leading to it and the car will continue to operate just as a fwd.
He said he's been swamped with calls, made a list and letting people see it in the order they called. I doubt that it will still be there when I get my turn.
Got a quick response. I'm way down the line. Seems like a really nice guy. The buyer will be a lucky SOB.

Yup.
The angle gear fails and is expensive to fix. The bandaid is to disable that portion of the system.

$400-2000 in parts alone depending on what exactly failed. Here's a DIY: http://forums.swedespeed.com/showthread.php?187388-Fixing-the-angle-gear
That's not too bad. I've seen a few v70s in the area that need this that are going for ~1k range so that's why I'm asking. I'd love a v70r but they are sooooo hard to find, especially stick.
Well, that explains while my message from 11am remains unreturned. I agree, someone is gonna get a great deal, and hopefully it's some one on here!
I bet his asking price of $1,500 is two to three time that of what the dealership offered him as trade.
I think the big thing here is the steering problem. It's expensive not not really easy. Plus, if you want to "restore" the rough, unique interior, it will get expensive really fast.
Update:
The car is sold but, sadly, not to me. The seller actually texted me back this morning:
"Sorry, the car sold to the first person who looked at it. He was the third person to call and did so within minutes of placing the ad."
I'm bummed that I didn't get it, but all Craigslist sellers should be such non-jerks.
