Just pulled from my '76 Spitfire, as detailed HERE
I drove this car about 2 miles and then into the garage, so I know that the drivetrain is good. It is out of an '84 Mustang GT, so the T5 is the "World Class" type and the engine is the 5.0.
Engine
The accessory brackets are custom made from aluminum stock. I suppose that was done for fitment reasons. It has a remote oil filter setup, which I assume isn't stock but I don't know offhand. It may have come off of another Ford vehicle? Tubular headers as seen in the pics, but they need some work on the sealing surfaces as evidenced by the exhaust gasket leaks. Carb is a 4bbl off of a '79 truck according to the tag, and I would call it "usable but suspect." One of the float bowls was leaking when I got the car (due to a stripped screw), but I think that I fixed that issue. EGR stuff has been removed. Cooling system shows a little corrosion at the hose connection points, but the coolant that came out looked good (Except for what was in the very bottom of the radiator. Yuck!) Ignition is the stock Duraspark system. All of the wiring is getting old and should be gone over, but it still worked since the car was running. Top end is sealed well but it probably has a front main seal leak based on the oil/crud accumulation below the crank pulley. Oh, and I did break a contact on the dizzy cap when I pulled it so you'll need one of those (<$20).
That's all I know and can think of about the engine.
Transmission
Transmission seemed fine. It shifted well and the fluid that came out looked fresh. The shifter was well-greased when I pulled it and the clutch pressure plate looks new. Nothing to report here, really, except that it seems like a solid unit that is ready to be used.
I'm not really up for palletizing and shipping this. For now, it's pick-up only. Sorry :( Maybe there's a Challenger headed through Houston, and you could meet them in Gainesville? Also, I'm not splitting this up. I know that the transmission is the more desirable of the two things, so you'll have to take the engine as well if you want it
$500, which I think is a great deal for a running 5.0/T5 package. 'Cause I love you guys.
gah... would be perfect to go into my volvo...
or to sell the engine and keep the trans for the s10 project... DOH... or I could pull the volvo engine from the s10 and use this haha....
Oops, sorry donalson! I meant to email you first since you were asking about it a few weeks ago. Lemme know if you want it.
Oh I really need that transmission. If you had done this 3 months ago I would have put the 5.0 in my bronco and the tranny in my 122.
Now I'll just have to figure out what to do with the 5.0.
Ok, who is coming from that way to the Challenge and can haul this thing to G-ville? If I can get it transported I am in.

Yes, it is. I wanted to give the GRMers a shot at it before it hits the local Craigslist.

I really want this. Why Houston?
The Texas A&M Challenge Team never came to get this as planned, so I still have it. $500 still takes it... I'll be listing it on CL Friday night, so speak up before then if you want it.
I know I want it, but I don't know what the hell I'd do with it. Somebody out in the wide wide world will snatch that up and do something cool with it.
In reply to mazdeuce:
I hope so! :) I've never listed it on CL because I wanted it to to a GRMer... but the time has come for it to move to a new home.
paging donalson
If only shipping wouldn't be so freaking much...
are you going to the Mitty
I would pay you now, but I have to finish moving to tax and find a place to stay.

I can't tell from the pic, but I need a set of block hugger style 302 headers. The mustang style shorties won't work. If you're interested in selling them separately I could send someone to pick them up.
Aussiesmg:
If I go to the Mitty, it would be in my Spitfire (which would be a miracle, considering its current state)... no hauling capability there :) However, if we could find someone local to me that's going, we could probably work it out.
Thinkkker:
When are you moving? And to where, exactly?
btp76:
At this point I'm not ready to part with just the headers. Thanks for the interest, though.
In reply to Winston:
Moving to somewhere between Corpus and San Antonio. Yes, thats a lot of area, but the final location to our facility is not finalized. So it may be a bit....
