My parents bought one of those new, and I ran it hard into a guardrail when it was only a few months old
$2800 doesn't seem like a lot for a cool v8 wagon until you add '78 Fairmont with ragged speaker hole in the passenger door and visible, unfinished bodywork to the description. Then it becomes about $1500 too rich for my blood.

That's such a refreshing change from: "I KNOW WHAT THIS CAR'S WORTH SO DON'T WASTE MY TIME WITH LOWBALL OFFERS!!!" and "No Scammers".
I'll agree, it is about a 12-1500$ vehicle. Would be worth more, to me at least, if it wasn't in OH.

Well, go buy it and prove us all wrong!!
In reply to RossD:
I'm not saying it's worth $2800. I'm saying that you can't tell the value of a car from just a picture. But I'll tell you this, because I'm very familiar with Ford stuff in my area - If everything is in good shape, the drivetrain alone in that car is worth $1500.

Correction: Value to me. Truthfully, I wouldn't even give him a phone call because he didn't bother to clean the mud out of it before taking the pic. That level of laziness is an indication of how well the power train is installed, tuned and cared for.

I agree in general, but this isn't a car that comes up very often. If you were looking for a 2000 LeSabre, then you can be that picky because they're a dime a dozen. But if you were looking for a Fairmont wagon with this drivetrain, you're telling me you wouldn't call him? If that was me, I might be put off by the fact that it wasn't cleaned up, but I'd still go look at it before deciding what it's worth and if I wanted to buy it or not.
But my original point was that it's very common on internet forums for people to tell other people what a vehicle they've never seen in person is worth. I've inspected way too many vehicles to think that anyone can tell the value of a car with such certainty by looking a picture.
I want that fairmont.... leave the body as is, make a nice fuel injected 351 windsor down in there, QUIET mufflers, decent springs/struts and wheels/tires and go trollin'.

I'll trade you a 351W for a Corvette!
Just deleted a cartoon image that many Christians would find extremely objectionable. I hate to drop a big ole mind-blowing concept on you guys, but insulting anyone's religion is a no-no in most polite, and for that matter even most impolite, discourse.
Please refrain from doing so, or I will call you for the shiny happy person you are and ban you.
Oh, and to a couple of you: if a classified thread can make you into an shiny happy person, then you have truly crossed the line into the land of the unredeemable douches.

But...but...but... it was a "Sweet, egg-laying Jesus!" pic. In response to that exact text.
How often does an opportunity to use that in context happen?
Sorry.
