NMNA

I saw it on the road in South GA.

OK, its a little over the limit. Negotiate a bit.

Is it just me, or is that a sub-$1000 car? No motor, question marks about the rest of the running gear since you can't test drive it, and it's missing trim. Et cetera.

Nope. Malibu wagons have gotten expensive in the last 10 years. The last one I looked at was $10k.

Seems odd when 90's B-body wagons are so cheap by comparison. Haven't priced Fairmont wagons lately but, in some ways, those have a lot of appeal as well.

I still want an El Camino from this generation of A/G-body so grain of salt.

There was a Fairmont sedan on CL last month. It was 7K. Those used to be dirt cheap. I think I paid $500 for mine 25 years ago.

Malibu wagons are almost impossible to find anymore. They have either been chopped up and turned into drag cars or sent to the scrap heap. I still grumble about the one my wife totaled.

This one sure looks like a drag car!

It's pretty rough, and you can still find them reasonable. This one is easily double what it is worth.

On a semi related note, I am hot on the heels of a rust free Fairmont wagon with a 302/T-5 combo for just over $2k

Yeah, they're on the long list of cars I probably wont own again because for the price it ain't worth it. And mine was a cutlass which had a way cooler grille. Junked it in 2003.. It was pretty well used up and rusty. 5 years as a tow vehicle, 10 as a daily driver, 3 more as my first car and drag car. In 2002 not many people were racing them yet.

My 78 zephyr(fairmont) wagon.. cost me 800 and the only rust hole was floorpan. Ive looked at 3 in worse shape that people wanted over 4k for. You can find deals but depending on location there getting harder too find.
