Hey guys, selling for a buddy something that I think is really special and a good deal for somebody.
1979 Callaway Scirocco Turbo - $1500 obo
THE BAD - The engine is seized! Car does not run.
THE GOOD - Callaway turbo kit, MSD ignition, Personal Steering wheel,
Some period Zender parts including a Zender strut bar
Please PM me with questions/offers

Crap. It isn't working.
I also don't currently have a place to work on a car...but if any car would make me want to start looking for a space to rent it would be a Scirocco. I've driven several "vintage" water-cooled VW products over the years (many when they were nearly brand new) and have always liked them.
So in my case I'll add that I can't fit my long creaking joints into a small "furren" car.

well dang that was fast... sale pending!
Man, how did I miss this? Mine was an 81 callaway, does yours have etched windows or was it a kit build?
That turbo kit is worth $1500!!

Yep... don't I know it! I tried telling the owner but he swore that the car wasn't worth anything, and didn't want to ask anybody too much. If I told you the actual offer he accepted you'd be shocked.
FARGLEBLEAGLE, I would've bought that! I have an extra 8v engine with forged rods just begging for something like this.
Is the 79" sold- could use this chassi -I have an 81 VW Scirocco Callaway wrecked in front-

Canoe?
I think just wishful thinking.
I know this is a really old thread but I came across it looking up stuff on these cars.
Just in case anyone would want to know this Scirocco is now on the lift in our shop down in SC. It is undeniably the same car. We are rebuilding it for it's current owner.
The current condition is really rough and the turbo kit, trans, and engine are long gone. But we are trying to save it and swap in a MK4 1.8t for it's owner. Lots of work in the Scirocco at this point.
Pics of the current rebuild?
I'll get some but it came to us in sad shape.we are just getting the car structurally sound and running. He will be taking it to a body shop for the pretty work.
