Any non-running Subaru is worth between $6K and $11K based on the offers I have received while looking for a new home for my WRX drivetrain.

So I must conclude that this is a hell of a deal.

That's a 2WD model. I had an '86 Hatch just like it on here for sale for $300. Needed a passenger door, clutch, and brakes.

Nobody wanted it.

That's not true. I wanted it (and this one), but the distance and my lack of storage prevent either from happening. Those cars in non-rusted condition are rarer than hen's teeth here in the rust belt.
