Ok, scope creep on the rail project has put me Waaaaay over budget so although I was going to hang on to the 1600 SP that came with it as a backup I need to raise money for the last few bits for the project.
Not much I can say about it, came with the rail, was a running motor according to seller (who I know and trust) Has been sitting a few years so it should be gone through. I have the carb although not shown in photos. Turns over freely by hand.
I'd like to get $400. I could also use a set of 15x8 or wider wheels in 4 bolt, a spun aluminum gas tank 5 gallon preferred, no more than 10 so if you have some parts we can talk trades.
Wish that you were closer, I'm in South Coastal Massachusetts. No need for the little single port, but I have a TON of VW parts and pieces, racing and otherwise, including some 8 inch wide wheels and a spun aluminum sand rail gas tank with mounting brackets from KC Buggies.

Im ok with cash and shipping costs if it's less than new stuff :) Shoot me an email at jim@misfittoysracing.com
I have an eclectic stash of parts and other crap myself (not just VW) so if you are looking for something let me know always happy to work trades but this is a short time project which means paying for parts if I can get em :)
I'll take some pics for you this weekend, you can decide then.

Thanks, much appreciated. Looks like I have a few local buyers lined up on the motor so I may have some funds to work with :)
Good for you? What are the case numbers (right under the generator stand) on your engine?
Just thinking that if it's a '68 Bus engine it worth a lot more than the average bear.
The Samba has a listing of what case numbers came in what cars/models/years if you need to identify the engine for a potential buyer. Here's the link to the engine numbers:

Good call, I've really paid zero attention to this one but I should go run the numbers on it I guess.
