I'm thinking I may be better off finding a complete rear axle assembly with brakes for my trike project. I'm not really picky on brand, but here are the points I'm interested in:
1.) Cheap
2.) Narrow(think locost-ish)
3.) Pinion input either centered, or offset towards passenger's side
4.) Cheap
I don't need any type of limited slip, though I would prefer brakes(either disc or drum are OK). If the bolt pattern is anything besides 4x100 or 4x108 I might be interested in a pair of wheels too.
I have a spridget rear and a few steelies if that will work.
That just might. Do you know the width? How much for it?
I can measure it in the morning and get back to you. Price could be worked out, cheap.
I'm trying to clean out some extra stuff, rather see it go to someone's project rather than the scrap man.
went out behind the shed to measure one and they all (3) appear to have disappeared along with 2 sets of aluminum wheels.
I don't remember when I was back there last, but I think it's time to set up some bear traps around the back.
I might have another in a storage unit, but I'm not sure if I put it on the pile with others behind the shed or not.
I'll keep you posted, sorry.

How about a first gen RX7 with drum brakes--it's about 58" wide, pinion offset to passenger side about 2-3". Bolt pattern is 4x110. I could get measure it better if you're interested.
Thanks for checking!
That RX-7 rear sounds workable. How much for it?
Sounds great John! I'll PM you & work out the details.
Pete.
Once you get the rear measure the axle stub and PM me i might have a drill jig that will fit to drill bolt pattern to 4x4 and one for 4x100mm if you realy need to change it.

I have a few 10 bolts, you can have one
I have one from a Starlet. Small, narrow, geared really high, like 2.8:1 or something insane, which would be really good for a bike engine project. 4xsomething (100? 108?). $25, you pick it up, or I can deliver it somewhere between NW Arkansas and SE S.D. around July 4th.
Thanks for the offers guys!
John is only an hour away, so I'm planning on picking his RX-7 axle up this weekend. If for some reason it won't work I'll follow up on those others. Thanks!
