I like where this thread is going. Being an a-hole is one thing, but being able to admit it is a rare trait indeed.
So Woody, tell us about the text conversation.
He just kept hammering me with "What do you wanna give me for it?", to which I would counter with, "I'd like to take a look at it before I make an offer". It got kind of repetitive and I decided that I didn't want to get involved. I got the impression that he had never driven the car himself.
I'm going to a PCA meeting in the area tonight and I'll ask around to see if anyone knows any details about the car.

That's exactly what I was thinking too.
I don't think too many Porsche purists really give a rats ass about a third year, 2.5l Boxster with a missing engine.
If I am an ex-Porsche owner and have engine parts from one in my garage, am I just an ass?
