Since this has been just sitting in my driveway getting no use for 2 years or so, I think it's time to let it go.
1984 318i coupe i.e. the lightest and also slowest of the e30s
The Good
Runs well, good compression. Hasn't been driven in a while though, so it may need some attention.
brakes have been swapped to 325 setup - front vented disc, rear solid disc
LSD swapped in - don't remember the ratio off the top of my head
Axles recently replaced
Condor speed shop bushings in the rear control arms, subframe and diff
Brake and fuel hard and soft lines have all been recently replaced
New KYB shocks/struts, Racing Dynamics lowering springs, all bushings and mounts are new
Custom built header, stock exhaust from the header back
Shifter recently rebuilt - like 0 miles recently
The bad:
RUST! of course
Passenger side floor patched, driver's side replaced with sheet metal - i'm not much of a fabricator so this isn't the prettiest work ever.
Driver's side shock tower patched as well, there was some very questionable work that was replaced with slightly less questionable work - I was planning on using this as a rallycross car, and for that I would probably box the towers
Bodywork is ugly - there's a good sized dent in a rear fender and some rocker rust
Needs a windshield lock strip(probably gasket too) but the glass is good.
Battery was moved to the trunk, but that work should probably be looked over as well.
Carpet is gone - you didn't want it anyway. Dash is cracked, I have a better, but not perfect one that will go with the car. Rear package tray is in really sad shape as well.
Has a depowered e36 steering rack, but I think the rack is bad. I have new tie rods (inner and outer) and the original rack that can go back in.
The Extras
Full Drivetrain - Longblock, trans, accessories, all of it. Bought to rebuild and never did. Bores look good, but I'm no expert.
e30 steelies with snow tires mounted - tires are about dead but you could get a rallyx or 2 out of them
A few spare bottlecaps
Several rear subframes, brakes, original open diff from the car, a front subframe for a m20 if you want to swap it, random odds and ends and bits and pieces. Also 2 sets of NOS m10 pistons in different bores and compression ratios. Basically, enough stuff to get pretty close to zeroing out the car for a challenge budget, if you're patient.
$1200
