So, there is an Alfa Milano sitting at a repair shop that I dive by just about every day and today I stopped to ask about it. It is pretty rusty, but while looking at it, I noticed a the car in the title there, too. The body is in pretty good shape, the interior has some wear and it is pretty rust free, but it has been sitting a while. The owner has taken posession of it through a mechanic's lien and is willing to let it go. I asked how much, and his first offer was "$800?" with that big question mark on the end. I am thinking $500 would take it.
I had to get back to work, so I didn't find out much about the car, but apparently it has a new turbo, new coil-overs, a 3" exhaust and it does (or did) run, but it wasn't running quite right and got stuck on the back of the lot after the owner disappeared.
Pictures to follow once I upload them off of my phone
Damn. That would be a steal. I know those cars may have electrical gremlins, but I love the body lines so much..
Edit: You are still talking about a starion and not an Alfa Milano, right?
Ok, which car are we talking about here?
Pretty sure the starion is the $500 one.
We are talking about the Starion/Conquest. The Alfa Milano is rusty, plus automatic.
Just in case it isn't clear, this car does NOT have a moonroof.
Oh, forgot this. It is sitting at:
Patterson Performance Saab
1405 Ollie St
Raleigh, NC 27609
Berkeley, I'm glad I'm a few hours away. That thing is seriously B.A.
It is clean enough that I am tempted, but I'm trying to wean myself from projects.
I'd buy the coilovers if you get it. I know a few people in VA you could get a motor from (or parts) and have it running for not too much invested.
I'm sitting in my company's Charlotte office as I type this, probably less than 30 minutes from this car. I lusted after these when I was a teenager. But I'm here so I can leave and go to my LeMons race this weekend. That'll be my excuse not to go grab this. Phew...
This is still there. Since my RX-7 got smushed by a tree, I'm really hoping somebody who is not named "Brett Murphy" buys this.
Did the shop owner get the title with the mechanics lein?
Do it Brett, they're easy. And I have some connects on the east coast who could get your some parts.
SHHHHHHH I'm half heartedly hoping it will be there in the spring.

The contact information for the shop is in the thread, I'm avoiding the place.
If that thing really has coilovers they are worth their weight in gold. My buddy has one that he wants to build for auto-x, but he says there is ZERO aftermarket support in the suspension department. He's currently trying to get some Ebay GTR coilovers made to fit.
I can probably go and look to see what kind they are.

They're not worth their weight in gold. It depends on the brand, but today I just picked up a set for less than $250. If they're D2 coilovers you might be able to get about $700 used for them depending on condition. You can get them brand new for less than $1000 (for now) and D2's and anything like them aren't bolt on.
Have your friend go on the starquestclub forums and PM a member named Nikofab to get a set of D2's. Or here for a little bit more.
