I am finally getting back to my e36 v8 swap and wanted to upgrade from the 2g. I was unfamiliar with the 4g...can you explain the benefits of each? Definitely interested in one of them.

The 3g would be easier to mount if using the Mustang 5.0 FEAD. The 4g is for Exploder/Mountaineer 5.0 FEAD.

This 3g comes with a SN95 pulley; about the same size as an aftermarket U/D. I didn't want to overspin it. 3g is good to ~15,000rpm.

Alt RPM = Engine RPM x (Crank Pulley Diameter/Alt Pulley Diameter)

How tall is the WP? It looks surprisingly like an Exploder one, which requires all sorts of mods to work on anything but Exploders.

In reply to Ranger50:

It's for a SN95 Mustang 5.0 . . . There are no provisions to screw on a fan/fan clutch.

The part numbers:

  • Cast: PH-9033
  • Sticker: 6U2J-8501-NA EPKRA

I can't remember where I ordered it from . . .

I was piecing together a SN95 FEAD, but an entire Exploder FEAD came up cheap.

I spaced the Exploder FEAD and Exploder WP pulley out about an inch to work with SN95 balancer.
