My buddy is finally ready to sell his Opel GT for real. He's been playing around with the idea for some time now and had set a ridiculous price for it, but has now come to his senses.
It's not in terrible condition, but has rust on the TOP of the fenders . . . weird !
He can explain the condition and new low price, email him at:
xfretlessx-at-aol.com
Replace the -at- with the traditional @ symbol and the email will go through just fine.
If I had the room this would already be mine. It's totally complete ! !
Also have him post it at opelgt.com. And there is a facebook page for Opel Gt Swap Meet he can post at too.
If it is green I may have the back story on that rust.
Shoot Steve and email, I don't remember the color, I've only seen it in a rather dark garage.
Bet he (and I KNOW that I) would LOVE to know the reason for the bottom being so nice and the rust only being on the tops of the front fenders . . .
If I only had the room right now (three on-going projects) I'd really love to cut the the body free and mount it on an aircooled Beetle pan. Pop a nice turbo engine out back and start having some real fun with it.
But . . . I've got enough projects ahead of me to last until I drop dead. Heart disease and diabetes have set a ticking timer on my longevity, if I ever even finish the Austin A35 alone, I'd consider myself a lucky boy.
Someone really ought to scoop this up, it going for less than a set of tires . . .
