In a severe case of caveat emptor, I am selling a T56 that I bought approximately 10 months ago for my RX-7 LS1 conversion. Here is the short story.
I found the transmission via Craigslist, where it was advertised as an "LS1 T56". It was listed at $1300 and I offered $1100, which the seller accepted. Fast forward to my recent purchased of an already running RX-7 LS1/T56. As part of that transaction, I included the rebuilt LS1 I had, as well as the T56. Well, the seller of the car I bought is more astute than I, and determined that the T56 I have is from behind an LT1, not an LS1, and, as such, wasn't interested in it (not that I could blame him).
So, I now have an LT1 T56 for sale. It includes a bellhousing, clutch and pressure plate. I paid $1100 and am looking for $800. Here are pictures.
damn i need that. but i dont think you'd take an 80 z28 in trade nor would i want to tow it to florida if you did.
You are correct sir! I am not in the market for an '80 Z28.
Will that bolt up to an old skool SBC
hmmmmm very very tempting........ MUST NOT GIVE IN!

would you go $500 if this ends up in an LT1 powered challenge car?

And interestingly, the bellhousing I have is for an SBC, as far as I know (of course, given my inability to tell the LT1 and the LS1 transmission apart from each other, that statement should be taken with a grain of salt).

I might be convinced. Got anything cool you don't need. We can always do separate receipts.

what type of cars/parts are you looking for? how bout a basket case mk1 MR2? maybe a running 86 chevy van? a dohc 4.6? complete 914 engine/trans? a welder? old school arcade games? coin op washer dryers? 6/4 cherry/oak/maple lumber? 8mph electric powered recliner? etc...
jhaas and aussiemg, I just replied to you both off forum.
Thanks,
Tucker
My only question is: Jon, How is that not an 80mph recliner?
