I'm looking for an oil pressure sending unit off of a 4.0l Jeep engine (I think it's a 1999, but I don't imagine they changed much). You can find it right next to the oil filter on the passenger side of the engine.

I'll be in the states from the 24th of November to the 8th of December, but it doesn't look like I'll have time to hit the "yards". Autozone wants $45.00, and E-Bay wants around $25... I was hoping someone could beat that. Shipping would be to Mississippi.

Thanks in advance, -Bill

broken during oil change?
I know this happened many times at walmart from some strong handed not-so-careful walmartians.
Good luck!

I'm in the same state, but I wouldn't know what I was looking for.

Yeah, I'm sure someone didn't know it was there when they went after the oil filter. All I got was "can you fix my gauge"?

It looks like this and it sits right next to the oil filter. But I wouldn't make an special trips for it, this thing is a minor nuisance at best.

I may be hitting our local yard this Friday afternoon, and I know there's a modest number of Jeeps there so I can keep an eye out for one of these. They'd likely only charge me a few bucks for it, and it looks like it would fit in a flat-rate USPS box, so I'd guess it wouldn't be more than $10-12 total.

Those things can go bad internally without any outward indication. For all that trouble isn't it worth just buying a new one?

As a $25 question for new egay, or a $11 unknown used one from a junk yard......I think I'd buy new

If new isn't 10x over used/unknown, I'll always recommend that route.

I just replaced mine with a unit from Advance... i want to say it wasn't much more than $30.

Ashyukun: If you see one, and you have the time, then that sounds perfect. If not, I'll go the egay route or worst case "autozone". Heck, if you can get one for $10-$12, I can still get the egay one and have two for the price of one autozone :)

good times!

I might have a new factory one in my garage. I'll check tonight. I have way too many Jeep parts in my garage, and exactly no Jeeps right now.

Sweet! If it's still there, let me know what you want for it.

Sorry, I don't have it any more. I guess I shouldn't tell you that if I did have it, you could have had it for nothing. I need to purge my garage of stuff.

Probably cheaper to order a name brand unit from rock auto.
