Its tempting to grab for an engine swap in the ruckus, but that kind of mileage is scary to me, even if it is a Honda. Plus, I guess the Elite 250 has a unique hub pattern, doesn't even match the Helix, so no aftermarket wheels.

Nope, but it has been done. Ditto on Helix swaps, which have better parts supplies, at least on the ones they don't share with the Elite. I've heard the 89 Elite is about the best, since its a horizontal engine, but enough people have done vertical swaps that there is at least a bit of a trail blazed.
That's a good deal...someone should pick it up quick. The miles mean very little-it's liquid cooled and miles don't bother them like an air cooled. We had one that I sold a year ago and had no problem getting $1200 for it....in winter! It was a great little scooter than had no problem hauling my big carcass at 70mph and delivering an honest 68mpg doing it. The only downside was running on the interstate with the small tires. If you didn't run the interstates, it is a tough maching to beat. It never failed to put a smile on my face.
