I just bumped into an interesting Pinto in the junkyard last Saturday. Motor was disassembled in the trunk surrounded by many boxes of Ford parts, seemingly new in the box. Bearings, gaskets, etc. Dash was gone, had some rust in the floor, but under the hood all seemed solid. The roll cage seemed weak and I didn't believe the GT-3 classing on the door. Maybe ITB? It was rootbeer brown metallic, perfect for hiding among the other rust buckets.

Has CL started charging folks for using commas in their ads?

Seriously, I once owned a Pinto, a '76, and would like to find another one. Wish I was near this one and would gladly sell off the engine in hopes of returning this to a near stock condition...or does anyone have a lead/leads to a hatchback or sedan Pinto with a manual transmission?

I'm sorry, I just committed my worst peeve onn this board. I said I was interested in finding a car...then forgot to provide details on where I live and/or how far I'd travel. MY BAD.

I live in NE Fl. now, and last saw a nice Pinto in Tenn. when I was living there. I can't say I've seen any here in Fl. Would probably travel 500 one way to check one out...which pretty much means Atlanta.

All the cool cars are in Atlanta ....

Thought I had put my name in the profile, and haven't done it yet.

After posting this went to the Atlanta CL and found 4 or 5 Pintos. One's a really nice '76, an MPG...just like my old one, tho mention of the transmission. Mine was a MPG with automatic, and no matter what I did, that sucker got a measly 23 miles per gallon. That '76 is selling for just $1000 LESS than what I paid for mine.

Understeer with a 460?
