Thats not really too bad. You could cut down a van to what ever size you want and make a great utility vehicle for ranch use. Pennies on the dollar compared to a new UTV/side-by-side//what ever thing.

Is the dust buster a unibody car? They welded the subframes together or dropped it on something else?

Unibody, looks like they just cut out between the B and C pillars and welded it back together where the rockers were conveniently already reinforced for the pillars. Maybe it also has "frame" rails underneath like a caravan or XJ? I'd trust a shortening job like that a lot more if this is the case.
