This would be more tempting without the damaged third gear (duh), but it's still pretty compelling. Right now I'm spending more than this on getting the van's transmission rebuilt. That's less fun than this would be...

ad said: I am sad to say it is time to sell my GTX. I have owned since 1999. It is good condition with no rust except for the sun roof. Has 210,000 miles now, purchased with 164K. I have close to $20K invested over the years. The car runs very strong but has (2) problems. Third gear has a missing tooth. This was recent event and why I have stopped driving the car very much. The turbo oil seal leaks when the car is cold on first start up. The result is a some oil smoke for 2-3 minutes. After is warms up the seal tightens up and is not a problem. It will pass DEQ and a new DEQ test slip will be provided.

Are repair parts for the trans even available at this point? I know that without pulling it and opening it up, there's no way to tell, but this really seems like a lost-cause platform. Which is really sad.

That one and another (red?) one come up on Portland CL fairly often, although I remember it being more expensive. It usually incites the all too common "Close that tab before you do something stupid" reflex.

Glad I'm not the only one that is phased by it.

such cool little cars. I wonder if they could be swapped and converted to either a subie drivetrain, or a RWD setup with some completely different engine, since parts are unobtanium for the most part......
