Elf is cool, but I wish they had laid a yard stick on the ground or something for reference. How big is it? Or isn't it?

The 505 has been for sale for months now. I think the first time I saw it listed it was something like $2500. The Elf looks pretty awesome, but I would imagine for it to be anything more than a low-speed town commuter it would need some serious upgrades in the power department. that old non-turbo diesel probably made all of 40 horsepower when it was new.

that Fiero, on the other hand, is quite tempting... What does GRM think? Manual swap my SVX or try to trade for a Fiero? haha

That Fiero is damn tempting, but my gut is telling me the seller is bailing out because the car has too many problems they don't know how to resolve. Are they easy problems? Is the seller/builder a hack and the whole swap needs reengineered?

That's a $2k gamble for someone with more time & determination(and for their sake, hopefully luck too) than I.

Can you imagine trying to find OEM parts for an ultra rare 50+ year old Japanese diesel? Cool but......oh the rarity

Forget the megasquirt, just put in a factory harness from a 3.4 Car and use that computer. No need to tune etc. Sell mega stuff and be way under budget. The noted Isuzu 5-speed is an odd choice. '84 would have the stronger muncie 4 speed and the 3.4 would have had a Getrag. The Isuzu will work, but hold off on the burnouts.

Looks clean inside, good interior parts are getting scarce for these cars. I see swapped seats and this was an A/C car in the beginning.

I wouldn't want to splice the wiring from a mid 90s grand prix gtp into a 84 fiero personally. No clue on the trans though.

If I had the money sitting here, I probably would have driven the 50 minutes to look it over really well with a fiero friend. Bugger should be quick though.

GM engine wiring should be fairly stand alone here. ECU shouldn't need much from the body other than power. Its OBD1 stuff. Not sure how you'll deal with gauge functions, extra set of senders and wiring I guess. When I put the 1995 truck TBI on my 350 Fiero it wasn't too bad.

hmm, I hate splicing wiring though. I'd rather rip it all out and start over....
