Looks good but I worry about body rust being northern cars.

Since I'm an ethical vegetarian who hates guns (been over 30 years since I've been hunting) I had no clue. Plus, "bang" for a gun is so incredibly juvenile.

CL has some issue with guns, hence the creative language.

That's why it's funny!

Hmm... "rare" I'll give him.. "valuable"... don't know about that... but $1000 for both sounds like a good deal. Sucks about the missing keys. That could be annoying.

What would be a good swap into one of for a Challenge device? 13B? An entire FWD drive train from ??????

What about a liter bike engine.

The engine layout is similar to Subaru: longitude V4 in front of a FWD transmission. I've said for years these early Saabs are the prototypes of all Subarus. Even today - look at the wheels on the chassis Woody posted and then look at the standard Crosstek CV wheels.

Of course, the issue there is width. The V4 is not a long engine - a foot or so? - and not very wide, either. So there isn't a lot of room in the bay length or width-wise. A MC engine is possible. Of course, it doesn't have to stay FWD...

Missed this thread originally but just found these while perusing the "list". Quirky little cars.

And I had used "bang" as my search keyword to see what people wanted to trade.

I really need to stop looking in this section.

I wonder what the wagon would look like towing two Sonetts home?

IIRC, same bellhousing bolt pattern as a Ford COlogne v6. So you could conceivably get a very nose-heavy 160 hp or so. Not sure that the later Explorer SOHC 4.0 would fit.

See, things like this are why I try to avoid this part of the forum. Too many ideas, too little money.

psteav, my poorly conceived, bourbon-fueled evil plan is to meld a locost chassis, Ford V6 and Sonett body.

FWIW, there are currently some free Sonett bodies on Saabnet, in case someone with time and skillz wants to make that dream a reality...

Swedishness aside, these are like Volvo P1800s in that truly nice ones are separated from scruffy drivers by about $10k for a very good reason...

Those cars have been parked outside that business for many years. They used to be a Saab mechanic, pretty sure they were bought out in the last couple years. The cars used to be parked out front. It's just off I-70, that map shows exactly where they are. I stopped in once during my brief period of Saab ownership seeking an engine. I think they had a 93, a 95, a 9000 and a couple 900s out front back then, as well as these. There might have also been what was left of a 96.

"Bang" is indeed a very juvenile way to refer to a gun, but Dayton is hardly a bastion of sophistication.
