Good thing I'm broke and have no room for more cars.

I would give $5 to see the running one flat towing the non runner to its new home.

I'd double that 5$ to see that combo make it more than half a mile.

Correct me if I'm wrong, IIRC, no one has even attempted a Bi-Turbo as a challenge car yet? Have any Bi-Turbos made it to lemons?

If I weren't broke as joke, I would put up prize money for the first successful Bi-Turbo challenge car. Successful meaning that it completes the competition, and has enough Maserati left in it to be recognized as a Bi-Turbo. For example, an engine swap would be OK, but miscellaneous Maserati sheet metal draped on some other chassis probably would not be acceptable.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again, a Nissan VQ seems like a great candidate for a Bi-Turbo swap. Bonus points for keeping both the turbos.

This seems like a really really really good bad idea.

Fake.

There is no such thing as a running Biturbo.

Does the transmission mount directly to the engine or do they have a rear transaxle?

I will admit that when the title here said that one was running I figured it was a lie. If you read closely one does run but needs work to be a driver. Aka: can not be driven.

Ad said:

I have for sale 2 maseratis biturbos, these are both twin turboed one has 23,000 miles the other one has 84,000 miles the red one is rust free and and the burgundy has some minor surface rust around the trim. one of them does run needs a little work to be a driver, it had a engine rebuild. One is a 5 speed the other an automatic. I have clear title for burgundy one and applied for the tiltle for the red one so both will have a clear title. Having to relocate and can't take them with me

The text of this ad is very unclear:
One has 23k. The other 84k.
(in the world of Bitrubos, 84k is like 200k miles in the regular world, maybe 300k)
One is red. The other Burgandy
One is auto. The other manual trans.

Have to just guess if the running version is a manual or auto and then if it has 23k or 84k

The running Biturbo had me thinking scam too! The way he worded it is infuriating, but if we take the worst case, the running car is the 84K mile car, automatic and has no title!

In reply to TiggerWelder:

I think a BiTurbo is the rare case when not having a title is a benefit. Odds are it'll never be roadworthy anyway, so the lack of title just means no one will be able to trace the car back to you after you've inevitably pushed it over a cliff from frustration-induced rage.

I'm guessing the red one is the runner, as it's parked in a really awkward place for pushing. The burgundy one is resting in the usual place where it has been for some time.

Have you ever had a discussion with any maserati owners before? Every one I've met was infuriating in the way the worded things just talking to you. Its like the cars attract imbreds with money or something.

JohnRW1621 is right. The ad is worded like an LSAT question.

John has 2 Maseratis for sale. The one that is red is not auto. The one that is running is not next to the one that is not burgundy. Which one should you buy?

Buy both, sell runner for as close to $1800 as possible, buy 5.3L GM pickup for as little as possible. Stir. Stir some more. Keep Stirring.

Oh good. There hasn't been a Biturbo posted here for a long time, i was afraid something happened and I cross-slid into an alternate universe.

This thread is full of win. I really thought about buying a convertible biturbo about 10 years ago. It looked nice. Low miles, etc. Just needed a little bit of work to get it on the road.

I tried buying a running barn-find Biturbo convertible a year or so back at auction but the bidding went too high. I've always liked the way they look since their design is similar to that of my DeLorean...
