I realized yesterday that it had been two years since I last picked up the dice. It's still a cool universe and game, but maybe it's time to liquidate and concentrate on something else (like sleep, that would be good).

So, if anybody is seriously interested, I'll post up the list. Fair warning, it's large (been playing since 2nd edition), and I'm going to want serious $$$$ for it...

How many total points are we talking.

Over 7,000, and it's in good stuff, not points fluff. (Land Raider Crusader, Terminators, Jump pack squads, mounted infantry, all of the various HQ options, etc, etc) All Black Templar. Lots of Limited Edition figures (LE Axe Captain, 2-handed sword Emperor's Champion, etc). The army has won multiple awards for both painting and gameplay.

Also over 40 rulebooks, bits, templates, background books, painting guides, dozens of White Dwarf magazines, carrying cases, and enough terrain to ruinscape a 8' x 16' board...

Been playing for nearly 20 years, it's a lot of stuff.

I would suggest eBay then that is really the only place to sell a set of this size and scope unless you want to break it down into individual squads.

FeeBay would end up costing me around 15% when it's all said and done. I'm probably willing to break out the books, terrain, etc and maybe even the completed army from the spares and NIB stuff though,

But you get a premium. Anybody who buys the large set from you on the major forums is just going to break it down and sell everything off in sets anyway to make 30%+ above what you are selling your entire set for.

If they are as well painted as you say they will sell, and quickly on FleaBay.

What are you looking to get for the whole set though.

I have funded entire car builds from previous armies sales on eBay.

I'm probably looking for around $2000 for the whole package. Broken up I know I can get closer to $2700, even after fees.

This:

Think Dawn of War, only with miniatures that have to be built and painted. Major worldwide tournaments and rankings, all that jazz. It's supposedly the biggest non-video game hobby (in $$$) there is. More people play this than Magic, if that's a good indicator for you.

The person that came up with that probably forgot about those billionares that play with ex-USSR fighter jets, but yeah, I've never heard of it. Looks cool. Good luck with the sale.

How good is your painting skills? Maybe a local gaming shop would let you set up a display and consign stuff?

Well, that's kind of the problem. Four years ago we had three local hobby stores that supported this stuff. Now there is zero. (And guess who bought all their stuff... ).

The closest one now is in downtown Portland some 50 miles away. I've already sold them a ton of my stuff, but they try not to dabble in consignments or completed armies.

That would mean at least 3 people play.

I've only seen 2 people playing magic in years.

A lot of hobby shops dried up in the mid 90s and its been going downhill since which saddens me. There's still a pretty big community surround it or at least large enough that AAA game developers are starting to poach the universe.

If I had more time I'd be interested Javelin but sadly I travel way too much.

Also bring back some Starjammer!

So my local buyer flaked out at the last minute and my long-distance one doesn't want to pay to ship any of the books. If I'm just going to break it up anyway, I might as well maximize the profit.

So, yeah, still for sale. Flexible on pricing, contents, etc.

Will trade for AMC speed parts!

Extras: NEW Army Transport case (the soft one, black, with all new foam trays, and two spare trays) 2x large tackle boxes 6x Plano tackle trays Hundreds of dice, Warhammer dice, 3 sets of blast templates, bits, etc, etc. ~60 White Dwarf Magazines (from issue 227 - 330ish, with holes) ~30 various other Warhammer 40K books, guides, posters, promotions, etc

And finally, the army itself. It is entirely Black Templar, though many of the figures are kit bashed or modified as I started the army way before Black Templars became an "official" army. This army has won numerous awards, including Rogue Trader Tournaments, and best-of-show paintings (I've even been printed in White Dwarf). All models are plastic or metal, none of this horrible quality resin crap Games Workshop started selling recently.

Built/painted: SE Emperor's Champion (2-handed sword SE version) (multiple winner) High Marshal Helbrecht Jump Pack Chaplain Terminator Captain 6x man Terminator squad 10x man Jump Pack squad Dreadnought (all plastic, has multiple painted arm options, can be Venerable, etc) 6x man Tactical Squad (chained bolters, meltagun, power fist) 10x man Tac squad with a Rhino (Pistols/CCW's w/ power weapon) 10x man Tac squad with a Rhino (Pistols/CCW's w/ power weapon) Rhino Razorback (Heavy Bolters) Razorback (Lascannons) 3x Assasains (Vindicare, Culexus, Eversor)

Built but unfinished: 6x man Sword Brethren squad (the ones with robes, custom all plastic, 3 pistols/CCW's, power weapon, twin Lightning Claws, plus the metal 1-handed sword Emperor's Champion) 10x man HQ squad (pistols/CCW's, standard bearer, apothecary, power weapon) Foot Chaplain SE Black Templar Captain w/ axe (first ever Black Templar casted model, VERY rare, converted from melta/boltgun to a plasma pistol and jump pack) Foot Captain Tactical Squad (10x men, bolters, missile launcher, flamer, power weapon) w/ 10x men Recruit squad (Scouts w/bolters) 5-man Terminator Squad (Storm bolter/power fists with a power weapon) Predator Annihilator (Lascannons incl sponsons) Rhino

All of the vehicles (including the incompleted ones) are fully finished on the inside complete with Templar logos, verse, extra weapons, etc and have operating rear doors.

New in box: Land Raider Crusader

I know I'm forgetting stuff because it's been so long since I've looked at any of it. The built and painted stuff is about 3500 points, the whole thing is over 7000 points. If you are interested in the whole package, please email me and we can talk specifics, inventory what's here, etc. I'm going to feel out selling it all at once before committing to parting it out, so please hold off on any specific requests.

I finally added up the new, retail cost of this stuff direct from GW, plus the average going rate of the stuff that's no longer available, and I'm at $1,936.50 for just what's listed. There's more stuff included that's not even included in that, plus the White Dwarf collection, all of the various promo items, and of course the giant bitz box. It would easily cost over $2,500 to replicate this collection, and then you'd still have to paint it all.

Magic: The Gathering, otherwise known as Magic or MTG is the very first collectible card game. The original few sets/printings bring mega dollars, even today, and the guys that invented it are Dave Chapelle rich. Magic turned into Wizards of the Coast (WotC), who now own nearly everything gaming including Axis & Allies and Star Wars.

It's commonly seen being played in lunchrooms and cafeterias across the US by pale white kids in black clothes listening to Marilyn Manson while yelling "mana burn!".

Magic is still a huge game, with professional players, etc. There are tournaments practically every day all over the world, and almost every weekend there is a major US tournament with $10,000+ in prize money. This is the highest profile tournament series, but there are others.

Gluck with the Warhammer 40k sale. As you said, there are a boatload of people that play that too.

This is very true, a complete set of alpha moxes and a beta lotus helped me renovate my house. I also have a lot of the banned cards from alpha and beta and a complete set of arabian's still in a box.

Also dual lands which I have like 25 of are going for good money as well.
