I think that's about 14,987 over budget...

What is it about the forum description that is so hard to grasp?
Maybe each part listed is under $2013?
GLWS.
Elsewhere.

Shall we call a small personal watercraft on this? That or he has to agree to sell for $2013, I think I'm second in line calling dibs in it if he does
Eh...SRF is completely within the realm of reason here. It's expensive, but I could see it as a step many GRM minded folks would take.
It was never completely obvious to me that the classifieds had to be under $2013 until it was alluded to ON the classified forum posts.
So...take it for what you paid for it. There's a lot of folks on this board interested in racing with more than 2 grand in their pockets.

Since there's no classifieds for over 2k and the deal with racing junk went away, what's so wrong with posting up your stuff?

Because it would be more beneficial to the kind folks that provide us this free resource to advertise said item in their magazine. They opened up this small for sale forum for low buck items to help support people building challenge cars and selling items which are not cost effective to advertise in the magazine classifieds. They did not open this forum to give folks a place to reach their target audience without buying space in their magazine.

Agreed... Pretty easy for someone new to just jump to the "Classifieds" if they have something relevant to sell, and not expect a problem. Alot of forums have classified sections, so alot of newbies here probably don't take the time to look into it and realize that it's a very narrowly-defined list here.

I agree. I like to see these sorts of things pop up. Maybe we just need to request a "General Classifieds" so it does not interfere with people legitimately looking for stuff for a challenge car and having to sift thru the er... um... well, just the one additional post really :)
I am gonna say Canoe, just becuase, like the rest of you, the idea of a $2K SRF got me all worked up (even if I had to ssemble it) and let the powers that be make the deicsion. If it stays, cool, if not, cool

He's not a canoe.....he's been around since 2008.
afaik, this is the only classifieds here, but I somewhat agree, he'll reach a greater audience by going the magazine classified route.

Because until the powers that be make a change, this is a $2013 and under classifieds section.
Us cheapskates are limited to $2013, more than that and you have to pay but you also get it in the magazine.
But I've been wrong before.....

It says this under the description of the forum:
"Private party ads under $2013. Commercial and/or ads over $2012 will be deleted"
If he wants to post it in a forum with a targeted audience, SCCAForums.com is free.

That's been the general line before. I think the exception has been that if you have a paid ad in the magazine then you can post it here and it will get leniency

With very few posts, most of them promoting his own events by his organization.
come on guys ... we see LOTS of cars for sale on here that are higher than $2k ... they just use the standard forum ..usually with the disclaimer or " no affiliation" etc ... I know him from another forum and would have been glad to list it for him that way ...
and I realize that GRM would like us to list things in the mag .... but I really wish there was a classified ( like other forums ... and yeah I realize they aren't supported by a mag. ) section for non-challenge items
