Several years ago, The Boy called me at work, asking if I wanted a FREE truck. My immediate response was, obviously, "Yes!" Then my brain caught up with my mouth and asked, "What kind and what's wrong with it?"
To make a short story long, it was a coworker's '93 GMC Sonoma, that just died when he was pulling out of the parking lot. It had been nickel and diming him, and he had had enough, and just wanted it the berk out of his life. Coworker had left for the day, by the time I got there, but The Boy had the keys. The Boy gave me the keys, while he ran a work errand. I got in the truck, turned the key, and... IT FIRED RIGHT UP! I shut it down, told The Boy to call coworker and tell him we're coming to get the title. I hadn't told The Boy that it started. Got the title, drove it home. It ran great, for a couple months. It died in a parking lot. Turned out to be a $26 ignition module. After replacing that, it ran great again, until the earth reclaimed it.
