selling my 1980 Porsche 924 ,, b,ought it as a project but time is not there to work on it now,, so,, low mile 71k , 5 speed car in need of restoration , or customization,,, pretty solid car complete ,, has a newer battery but dead from sitting,, new boot to air meter , great winter project . $750 or bo maybe open for trades ,, what do you have ?

It's amazing how so many of these cars have such low mileage. That is not a good sign.

very few people know how to deal with the CIS system and so once they wont start or run properly because of gummed up fuel, bad grounds or vacuum leaks they park them and they sit.

If you want one, plan on learning a lot about the CIS system and get a CIS pressure test set. Or plan on converting to EFI with MegaSquirt.

The motors are the precursors to the Audi I5 and are very tough and take to boost quite well. Or one could swap an I5 or an early V8 in one and have some fun.

Chassis is the same as the 944 with a few changes (crossmember, steering rack mostly) so upgrades are available at the local salvage yard.

That's because the speedometers never work.

Something I just found out about those, the 924 had a cable for the speedo ran through the left front spindle. The 944s had electric speedos.

The odometer gears can break, just like they do on other VDO equipped cars of the time period.
