That would be a good price up here in rust-country for a rusty example.

Even if it is a bit rusty - a split bumper that's complete for $1500? Someone needs to get on that.

You don't need one; Georgia says that if the vehicle is older than a 1986 model, it is not required to be titled. As far as transferring to other states with no title: you cannot be turned down for registration simply because you have no title from a car older than 1986 from Georgia. I have played this game in every state (including Hawaii), except for a few Pacific states.

SC tells me otherwise. I bought a car (1974) in GA in July 2013. Several tries and 6 months later I still can't get it registered. Bill of sale and a 2011 registration is not acceptable. They want the title.

Looks like a nice deal. I don't think I would be put off by the title thing. In IL you might have to put up a bond for a while or go find a "donor"

The lack of title would probably be a PITA is PA as well, but for a car that clean, for that price... I'd probably find a way if I had room for it and getting it up here wouldn't effectively double the purchase cost...

I tried to buy a 79' 928 in PA, and it wasn't that hard to obtain a title for it. However, the ah##e selling it was too lazy to make the effort so I moved on...

I can second the title pains for the Commonwealth of PA - what a PITA! After ten months of battle with my wife's Mustang from NH with a Mass title the title company sent the title back to us and said 'good luck' (issues with odometer is the only problem). Not having a title at all? Yeah, I'm thinking no.

I actually bought my MGB GT many years ago in Atlanta of all places. It was one of those deals where the seller had the title from the person he got it from but hadn't put it in his name and dumped the whole mess on me. I could register it in my name but couldn't get a title, which they told me was fine for a car that old.

All it took was registering it in another state (Oregon) which gave me a title. Since then I have titled it in two other states and no problems.
